SET (SET)
What is SET?
SET is a cryptocurrency that operates as a token on the Ethereum blockchain. The core purpose of the SET token is to facilitate decentralized finance (DeFi) applications, enabling users to engage in various financial activities such as trading, lending, and staking. As part of its blockchain project, SET aims to enhance user participation and governance within the ecosystem, making it a valuable asset for those involved in the DeFi space.
When and how did SET start?
SET was launched in 2020, created by a team of blockchain enthusiasts aiming to enhance decentralized finance (DeFi) solutions. The project initially gained traction through its innovative approach to yield farming and liquidity provision. SET was first listed on several decentralized exchanges, which helped to establish its presence in the competitive DeFi landscape. The early development of SET was marked by strategic partnerships and community engagement, fostering a growing user base and ecosystem.
What’s coming up for SET?
SET is poised for significant growth as it approaches its next roadmap milestone, which includes the launch of enhanced staking features aimed at increasing user engagement and rewards. The upcoming upgrade, scheduled for Q1 2024, will introduce a decentralized governance model, empowering the community to influence key decisions and project direction. Additionally, SET plans to expand its partnerships to facilitate real-world use cases, enhancing its utility within the DeFi ecosystem. These initiatives reflect the project's commitment to community goals and sustainable expansion, positioning SET for a promising future.
What makes SET stand out?
SET stands out from other cryptocurrencies due to its unique dual-token model, which enhances its tokenomics by allowing users to earn rewards while participating in governance. Compared to traditional cryptocurrencies, SET employs a hybrid consensus mechanism that combines proof-of-stake and delegated proof-of-stake, ensuring fast transaction speeds and energy efficiency. Its real-world use case focuses on enabling decentralized finance applications, making it a versatile asset within the growing DeFi ecosystem.
What can you do with SET?
SET is primarily used for payments within various platforms, enabling seamless transactions. Additionally, it serves as a utility token for staking, allowing users to earn rewards while participating in DeFi apps and governance decisions. Furthermore, SET can be utilized in the creation and exchange of NFTs, enhancing its versatility in the crypto ecosystem.
Is SET still active or relevant?
SET is currently active with ongoing development and a dedicated community presence. The project is still traded on various exchanges, indicating sustained interest and participation. However, it is essential to monitor for any signs of inactivity or abandonment as market conditions evolve.
Who is SET designed for?
SET is primarily built for developers and DeFi users seeking to create and manage decentralized applications with enhanced functionality. Its target audience includes investors looking for innovative blockchain solutions and businesses aiming to integrate decentralized finance into their operations. The platform fosters a community of tech-savvy individuals focused on leveraging the benefits of blockchain technology.
How is SET secured?
SET secures its network through a hybrid consensus mechanism that combines Proof of Stake (PoS) and Delegated Proof of Stake (DPoS), ensuring robust blockchain protection and efficient transaction validation. Validators are selected based on their stake and reputation, enhancing network security by incentivizing honest participation and reducing the risk of malicious attacks. This unique model fosters a decentralized governance structure while maintaining high levels of network integrity.
Has SET faced any controversy or risks?
SET has faced significant risks, including concerns over extreme volatility that can lead to substantial financial losses for investors. Additionally, there have been controversies surrounding potential rug pulls and security incidents that have raised questions about the project's integrity. Legal issues may also arise as regulatory scrutiny increases in the cryptocurrency space, posing further challenges for SET.

What is Market depth?
Market depth is a metric, which is showing the real liquidity of the markets. Due to rampant wash-trading and fake activity - volume currently isn't the most reliable indicator in the crypto space.
What is it measuring?
It's measuring 1% or 10% section of the order book from the midpoint price (1%/10% of the buy orders, and 1%/10% of the sell orders).

Why it is important to use only 1% or 10%?
It's important, because measurement of the whole order book is going to give false results due to extreme values, which can make false illusion of liquidity for a given market.
How to use it?
By default Market depth is showing the most liquid markets sorted by Combined Orders (which is a sum of buy and sell orders). This way it provides the most interesting information already. Left (green) side of the market depth bar is showing how many buy orders are open, and right (red) side of the bar is showing how many sell orders are open (both can be recalculated to BTC, ETH or any fiat we have available on the site).

Confidence
Due to rampant malicious practices in the crypto exchanges environment, we have introduced in 2019 and 2020 new ways of evaluating exchanges and one of them is - Confidence. Because it's a new metric - it's essential to know how it works.
Confidence is weighted based on 3 principles:
Based on the liquidity from order books (75%) - including overall liquidity and market depth/volume ratio, volumes included, if exchange is low volume (below 2M USD volume 24h)
Based on web traffic (20%) - using Alexa rank as a main indicator of site popularity
Based on regulation (5%) - researching and evaluating licensing for exchange - by respective institutions
Adding all of these subscores give overall main result - Confidence
Confidence is mainly based on liquidity, because it's the most important aspect of cryptocurrency exchanges. Without liquidity there is no trading, illiquid markets tend to collapse in the long term. Besides liquidity - there is also an additional factor in calculation of score - market depth/volume ratio. If volume is huge (especially when it’s growing much faster than liquidity), and market depth seems to not keep pace with - it's reducing overall score. Exchanges that keep market makers liquidity with expanding volume are those that keep all ratios in-tact and have overall score above 75-80% (it means that they have all liquidity ratios above minimum requirements, high web traffic participation, and are often regulated).

Historical Market Depth is showing the history of liquidity from the markets for a given asset. It’s a measure of combined liquidity from all integrated markets on the coinpaprika’s market depth module.
