When and how did Rcoin start?
Rcoin originated in January 2021 when the founding team released its whitepaper, outlining the project's vision and technical framework. Following this, the project launched its testnet in March 2021, allowing developers and early adopters to experiment with the platform's features and functionalities. The mainnet was subsequently launched in June 2021, marking the official public availability of Rcoin for broader use. Early development focused on creating a robust ecosystem that supports decentralized applications and facilitates seamless transactions. The initial distribution of Rcoin tokens occurred through an Initial Coin Offering (ICO) in July 2021, which aimed to raise funds for further development and marketing efforts. These foundational steps established Rcoin's infrastructure and set the stage for its growth within the cryptocurrency market.

Is Rcoin still active or relevant?
Rcoin remains active through a recent governance proposal announced in September 2023, indicating ongoing community engagement and decision-making. Development efforts are currently focused on enhancing transaction efficiency and expanding its ecosystem functionalities. The project has maintained a presence on several trading platforms, with consistent trading volume, which reflects its market relevance. Additionally, Rcoin has established partnerships with various decentralized applications, allowing for integration into broader blockchain ecosystems. This includes collaborations aimed at improving user experience and expanding use cases for the token. The active development and integration efforts, alongside community participation, support Rcoin's continued relevance in the cryptocurrency landscape.
Who is Rcoin designed for?
Rcoin is designed for developers and consumers, enabling them to engage with a versatile blockchain ecosystem. It provides essential tools and resources, including SDKs and APIs, to facilitate the development of decentralized applications and services. This empowers developers to create innovative solutions while ensuring ease of integration for users. Secondary participants such as validators and liquidity providers play a crucial role in the Rcoin ecosystem. Validators contribute to network security and transaction validation, while liquidity providers enhance market efficiency through participation in decentralized exchanges. Together, these groups help maintain a robust and dynamic environment that supports the growth and adoption of Rcoin, aligning with the project's mission to foster a decentralized financial landscape.
How is Rcoin secured?
Rcoin employs a Proof of Stake (PoS) consensus mechanism, where validators are responsible for confirming transactions and maintaining the integrity of the network. Participants can become validators by staking a minimum amount of Rcoin, which incentivizes them to act honestly, as their staked assets are at risk. The protocol utilizes advanced cryptographic techniques, such as Ed25519 for digital signatures, ensuring secure authentication and data integrity. Incentives are aligned through staking rewards, which are distributed to validators based on their performance and the amount of Rcoin they have staked. To deter malicious behavior, the network incorporates slashing penalties, which can result in the loss of a portion of a validator's staked assets if they act dishonestly or fail to validate transactions correctly. Additional security measures include regular audits and a robust governance framework that allows stakeholders to participate in decision-making processes. The diversity of client implementations further enhances the network's resilience against potential vulnerabilities, ensuring a secure and reliable environment for transactions.
Has Rcoin faced any controversy or risks?
Rcoin has faced regulatory scrutiny due to concerns about compliance with financial regulations in various jurisdictions. In early 2023, the project was involved in discussions with regulatory bodies regarding its token classification and adherence to anti-money laundering (AML) standards. The team responded by enhancing their compliance framework and implementing stricter KYC (Know Your Customer) procedures to align with regulatory expectations. Additionally, Rcoin experienced a security incident in mid-2023 when a vulnerability was discovered in its smart contract code, which could have led to potential exploits. The development team promptly addressed this by deploying a patch and conducting a comprehensive audit of the codebase. They also initiated a bug bounty program to incentivize community members to report any further vulnerabilities. Ongoing risks for Rcoin include market volatility and potential regulatory changes, which are mitigated through continuous development practices, regular audits, and maintaining transparency with the community regarding compliance efforts and security measures.

What is Market depth?
Market depth is a metric, which is showing the real liquidity of the markets. Due to rampant wash-trading and fake activity - volume currently isn't the most reliable indicator in the crypto space.
What is it measuring?
It's measuring 1% or 10% section of the order book from the midpoint price (1%/10% of the buy orders, and 1%/10% of the sell orders).

Why it is important to use only 1% or 10%?
It's important, because measurement of the whole order book is going to give false results due to extreme values, which can make false illusion of liquidity for a given market.
How to use it?
By default Market depth is showing the most liquid markets sorted by Combined Orders (which is a sum of buy and sell orders). This way it provides the most interesting information already. Left (green) side of the market depth bar is showing how many buy orders are open, and right (red) side of the bar is showing how many sell orders are open (both can be recalculated to BTC, ETH or any fiat we have available on the site).

Confidence
Due to rampant malicious practices in the crypto exchanges environment, we have introduced in 2019 and 2020 new ways of evaluating exchanges and one of them is - Confidence. Because it's a new metric - it's essential to know how it works.
Confidence is weighted based on 3 principles:
Based on the liquidity from order books (75%) - including overall liquidity and market depth/volume ratio, volumes included, if exchange is low volume (below 2M USD volume 24h)
Based on web traffic (20%) - using Alexa rank as a main indicator of site popularity
Based on regulation (5%) - researching and evaluating licensing for exchange - by respective institutions
Adding all of these subscores give overall main result - Confidence
Confidence is mainly based on liquidity, because it's the most important aspect of cryptocurrency exchanges. Without liquidity there is no trading, illiquid markets tend to collapse in the long term. Besides liquidity - there is also an additional factor in calculation of score - market depth/volume ratio. If volume is huge (especially when it’s growing much faster than liquidity), and market depth seems to not keep pace with - it's reducing overall score. Exchanges that keep market makers liquidity with expanding volume are those that keep all ratios in-tact and have overall score above 75-80% (it means that they have all liquidity ratios above minimum requirements, high web traffic participation, and are often regulated).
