The native token, NIBBLES, serves multiple purposes within the ecosystem, including transaction fees, rewards for network participants, and governance, allowing holders to influence the project's development and direction. What sets Nibbles apart is its focus on creating a user-friendly environment for microtransactions, which is often overlooked in the broader cryptocurrency landscape. By providing a seamless experience for small-value exchanges, Nibbles positions itself as a significant player in the evolving digital economy, catering to users who seek efficient and cost-effective solutions for everyday transactions.
When and how did Nibbles start?
Nibbles originated in March 2021 when a team of developers released its whitepaper, outlining the project's vision and technical framework. The project launched its testnet in June 2021, allowing early users to experiment with its features and provide feedback. Following successful testing, the mainnet was launched in September 2021, marking the token's official entry into the market. Early development focused on creating a decentralized platform that facilitates microtransactions and enhances user engagement within the crypto ecosystem. The initial distribution of Nibbles tokens occurred through a fair launch model in October 2021, which aimed to ensure equitable access for all participants. These foundational steps established the groundwork for Nibbles's growth and its integration into various applications within the blockchain space.

Who is Nibbles designed for?
Nibbles is designed for consumers and developers, enabling them to engage in a decentralized ecosystem focused on digital transactions and community governance. It provides essential tools and resources, including user-friendly wallets and APIs, to facilitate seamless interactions and integrations within the platform. Primary users, such as consumers, benefit from Nibbles by accessing a reliable payment solution that supports various transactions, while developers can leverage the platform's infrastructure to build innovative applications and services. Secondary participants, including validators and liquidity providers, engage through staking and governance mechanisms, contributing to the network's security and decision-making processes. This collaborative environment fosters a vibrant community, allowing all participants to play a role in the growth and sustainability of the Nibbles ecosystem.
How is Nibbles secured?
Nibbles employs a Proof of Stake (PoS) consensus mechanism, where validators are responsible for confirming transactions and maintaining the integrity of the network. This model requires participants to lock up a certain amount of Nibbles tokens as collateral, which not only secures the network but also incentivizes honest behavior. Validators are selected to propose and validate new blocks based on the amount of tokens they have staked and the duration of their stake. The protocol utilizes advanced cryptographic techniques, such as Elliptic Curve Digital Signature Algorithm (ECDSA), to ensure secure authentication and data integrity. This cryptography protects against unauthorized access and ensures that transactions are verifiable and tamper-proof. Incentives are aligned through staking rewards, where validators earn rewards for their participation in the network, while slashing mechanisms penalize malicious actions or downtime by forfeiting a portion of their staked tokens. Additional security measures include regular audits and a governance framework that allows token holders to participate in decision-making processes, enhancing the overall resilience of the network.
Has Nibbles faced any controversy or risks?
Nibbles has faced some controversy related to security vulnerabilities in its smart contracts, identified in early 2023. These vulnerabilities raised concerns about potential exploits that could compromise user funds. The development team responded promptly by conducting a comprehensive audit of the smart contracts and implementing necessary patches to address the identified issues. Additionally, they initiated a bug bounty program to encourage community members to report any further vulnerabilities. In terms of regulatory risks, Nibbles has navigated scrutiny regarding compliance with local laws, particularly in jurisdictions with stringent cryptocurrency regulations. The team has maintained transparency with users by providing regular updates on their compliance efforts and engaging with legal advisors to ensure adherence to evolving regulations. Ongoing risks for Nibbles include market volatility and the potential for future technical vulnerabilities. To mitigate these risks, the project emphasizes continuous development practices, regular security audits, and maintaining an open line of communication with the community regarding any updates or changes to the platform.

What is Market depth?
Market depth is a metric, which is showing the real liquidity of the markets. Due to rampant wash-trading and fake activity - volume currently isn't the most reliable indicator in the crypto space.
What is it measuring?
It's measuring 1% or 10% section of the order book from the midpoint price (1%/10% of the buy orders, and 1%/10% of the sell orders).

Why it is important to use only 1% or 10%?
It's important, because measurement of the whole order book is going to give false results due to extreme values, which can make false illusion of liquidity for a given market.
How to use it?
By default Market depth is showing the most liquid markets sorted by Combined Orders (which is a sum of buy and sell orders). This way it provides the most interesting information already. Left (green) side of the market depth bar is showing how many buy orders are open, and right (red) side of the bar is showing how many sell orders are open (both can be recalculated to BTC, ETH or any fiat we have available on the site).

Confidence
Due to rampant malicious practices in the crypto exchanges environment, we have introduced in 2019 and 2020 new ways of evaluating exchanges and one of them is - Confidence. Because it's a new metric - it's essential to know how it works.
Confidence is weighted based on 3 principles:
Based on the liquidity from order books (75%) - including overall liquidity and market depth/volume ratio, volumes included, if exchange is low volume (below 2M USD volume 24h)
Based on web traffic (20%) - using Alexa rank as a main indicator of site popularity
Based on regulation (5%) - researching and evaluating licensing for exchange - by respective institutions
Adding all of these subscores give overall main result - Confidence
Confidence is mainly based on liquidity, because it's the most important aspect of cryptocurrency exchanges. Without liquidity there is no trading, illiquid markets tend to collapse in the long term. Besides liquidity - there is also an additional factor in calculation of score - market depth/volume ratio. If volume is huge (especially when it’s growing much faster than liquidity), and market depth seems to not keep pace with - it's reducing overall score. Exchanges that keep market makers liquidity with expanding volume are those that keep all ratios in-tact and have overall score above 75-80% (it means that they have all liquidity ratios above minimum requirements, high web traffic participation, and are often regulated).

Historical Market Depth is showing the history of liquidity from the markets for a given asset. It’s a measure of combined liquidity from all integrated markets on the coinpaprika’s market depth module.
