MOBY (MOBY)
What is MOBY?
MOBY is a cryptocurrency that operates as a token on the Ethereum blockchain. Its core purpose is to facilitate seamless transactions within the MOBY ecosystem, which focuses on enhancing digital asset management and promoting decentralized finance (DeFi) solutions. The MOBY token is designed to be used for payments, governance, and incentivizing participation in the platform's various services, making it a vital component of this innovative blockchain project.
When and how did MOBY start?
MOBY was launched in 2020, created by a team dedicated to enhancing decentralized finance solutions. The project aims to facilitate seamless transactions and interoperability within the blockchain ecosystem. Initially listed on several exchanges, MOBY gained traction through strategic partnerships and community engagement, which helped solidify its presence in the crypto market. The early development of MOBY was marked by a focus on user-friendly applications and robust security features, positioning it as a notable player in the DeFi space.
What’s coming up for MOBY?
MOBY is poised for significant advancements as it progresses through its roadmap for 2024. Upcoming features include enhanced scalability solutions and integration with decentralized finance (DeFi) applications, aimed at broadening its utility in the crypto ecosystem. The community is actively engaged in governance discussions, focusing on expanding use cases that leverage MOBY for peer-to-peer transactions and smart contract capabilities. As these developments unfold, MOBY aims to solidify its position as a versatile platform within the blockchain space.
What makes MOBY stand out?
MOBY stands out from other cryptocurrencies through its unique dual-token system, which enhances its tokenomics by allowing seamless transactions and incentivizing liquidity within its ecosystem. Unlike many cryptocurrencies that rely solely on traditional proof-of-work or proof-of-stake mechanisms, MOBY employs a hybrid consensus model that combines elements of both, ensuring faster transaction speeds and improved security. This innovative approach supports real-world use cases, particularly in decentralized finance (DeFi) and cross-border transactions, making MOBY a distinctive player in the crypto space.
What can you do with MOBY?
MOBY is primarily used for payments within various platforms, enabling seamless transactions. Additionally, it serves as a utility token for staking in DeFi apps, allowing users to earn rewards and participate in governance decisions. The token also supports NFT transactions, enhancing its utility in the growing digital asset ecosystem.
Is MOBY still active or relevant?
MOBY is currently active, with ongoing development and a dedicated community presence. It is still traded on several exchanges, indicating continued interest and engagement from users. However, regular updates from developers will be essential to maintain momentum and avoid perceptions of becoming an inactive project.
Who is MOBY designed for?
MOBY is built for a niche community of decentralized finance (DeFi) users and developers seeking innovative solutions for blockchain applications. Its target audience includes investors looking for unique opportunities within the DeFi space, as well as businesses aiming to integrate blockchain technology into their operations. The platform fosters collaboration among users to enhance the overall ecosystem.
How is MOBY secured?
MOBY secures its network through a unique consensus mechanism known as Proof of Authority (PoA), which relies on a select group of trusted validators to confirm transactions and add new blocks to the blockchain. This model enhances network security by ensuring that only verified nodes participate in the consensus process, thereby providing robust blockchain protection against malicious activities and ensuring high transaction throughput.
Has MOBY faced any controversy or risks?
MOBY has faced concerns regarding extreme volatility, which poses significant investment risks for users. Additionally, there have been allegations of a rug pull associated with the project, raising red flags about its security and long-term viability. As with many cryptocurrencies, potential legal issues and security incidents remain a challenge for investors in this space.

What is Market depth?
Market depth is a metric, which is showing the real liquidity of the markets. Due to rampant wash-trading and fake activity - volume currently isn't the most reliable indicator in the crypto space.
What is it measuring?
It's measuring 1% or 10% section of the order book from the midpoint price (1%/10% of the buy orders, and 1%/10% of the sell orders).

Why it is important to use only 1% or 10%?
It's important, because measurement of the whole order book is going to give false results due to extreme values, which can make false illusion of liquidity for a given market.
How to use it?
By default Market depth is showing the most liquid markets sorted by Combined Orders (which is a sum of buy and sell orders). This way it provides the most interesting information already. Left (green) side of the market depth bar is showing how many buy orders are open, and right (red) side of the bar is showing how many sell orders are open (both can be recalculated to BTC, ETH or any fiat we have available on the site).

Confidence
Due to rampant malicious practices in the crypto exchanges environment, we have introduced in 2019 and 2020 new ways of evaluating exchanges and one of them is - Confidence. Because it's a new metric - it's essential to know how it works.
Confidence is weighted based on 3 principles:
Based on the liquidity from order books (75%) - including overall liquidity and market depth/volume ratio, volumes included, if exchange is low volume (below 2M USD volume 24h)
Based on web traffic (20%) - using Alexa rank as a main indicator of site popularity
Based on regulation (5%) - researching and evaluating licensing for exchange - by respective institutions
Adding all of these subscores give overall main result - Confidence
Confidence is mainly based on liquidity, because it's the most important aspect of cryptocurrency exchanges. Without liquidity there is no trading, illiquid markets tend to collapse in the long term. Besides liquidity - there is also an additional factor in calculation of score - market depth/volume ratio. If volume is huge (especially when it’s growing much faster than liquidity), and market depth seems to not keep pace with - it's reducing overall score. Exchanges that keep market makers liquidity with expanding volume are those that keep all ratios in-tact and have overall score above 75-80% (it means that they have all liquidity ratios above minimum requirements, high web traffic participation, and are often regulated).
