LuaSwap (LUA)
What is LuaSwap?
LuaSwap is a cryptocurrency token that operates on the Ethereum blockchain. It is primarily used within the LuaSwap decentralized exchange platform, which facilitates automated token swaps and liquidity provision. The LuaSwap token (LUA) plays a key role in governance, allowing holders to participate in decision-making processes related to the platform's development and operations. This blockchain project aims to enhance decentralized finance (DeFi) by offering users a community-driven alternative for trading and earning rewards through liquidity pools.
When and how did LuaSwap start?
LuaSwap, launched in 2020, is a decentralized exchange protocol created by the team at TomoChain. Developed to enhance the trading experience by offering better liquidity and token swaps, LuaSwap emerged as a community-driven project with a focus on cross-chain compatibility. Early in its development, the platform gained attention through its unique tokenomics and community governance model, distinguishing itself from other DeFi projects. While specific founders are not prominently highlighted, the backing by TomoChain, a well-known blockchain company, significantly contributed to its credibility and growth. LuaSwap's initial listings on decentralized exchanges helped boost its visibility and adoption in the DeFi space.
What’s coming up for LuaSwap?
LuaSwap is gearing up for an exciting phase of development with several key updates on its roadmap. The platform is focusing on enhancing its decentralized exchange capabilities by integrating more cross-chain functionalities, allowing users to trade assets across different blockchain networks seamlessly. Upcoming features include improvements to the user interface and additional support for new tokens, which aim to bolster user experience and broaden its appeal. The community is actively involved in shaping future plans, with discussions around introducing governance mechanisms to give users a more significant role in decision-making processes. As LuaSwap continues to evolve, it is set to expand its DeFi offerings, making it a more versatile and user-friendly platform for decentralized finance enthusiasts.
What makes LuaSwap stand out?
LuaSwap is unique compared to other cryptocurrencies due to its focus on community-driven liquidity pools and cross-chain functionality. Unlike traditional DEXs, LuaSwap employs a special feature that allows users to earn rewards by participating in governance and contributing to liquidity pools, which are not limited to Ethereum but also extend to other blockchains like Binance Smart Chain. This standout technology enhances its real-world use case by providing a more versatile and inclusive platform for decentralized trading.
What can you do with LuaSwap?
LuaSwap is a utility token used for governance and staking within its decentralized finance (DeFi) platform. It enables users to participate in the protocol's decision-making process and earn rewards by staking their tokens. Additionally, LuaSwap facilitates liquidity provision and trading in DeFi apps.
Is LuaSwap still active or relevant?
LuaSwap is currently active and still traded on various platforms, with development ongoing to enhance its decentralized finance features. The project maintains an active community presence, as evidenced by regular updates and discussions on social media and development platforms. Overall, LuaSwap is not considered an inactive or abandoned project.
Who is LuaSwap designed for?
LuaSwap is built for DeFi users seeking a community-driven platform for swapping tokens and earning rewards. It targets a diverse audience, including developers and investors interested in decentralized finance innovations. The platform is ideal for those looking to engage with a user-governed ecosystem that prioritizes transparency and efficiency in token exchanges.
How is LuaSwap secured?
LuaSwap secures its network using the Proof of Stake consensus mechanism, which relies on validators to maintain blockchain protection and network security. Validators are responsible for validating transactions and creating new blocks, incentivized through staking LuaSwap tokens. This setup enhances security by requiring validators to have a financial stake in the network, aligning their interests with its integrity and reliability.
Has LuaSwap faced any controversy or risks?
LuaSwap has faced challenges related to the inherent volatility and risks associated with decentralized finance platforms, including potential security incidents due to smart contract vulnerabilities. While there have been no major hacks or rug pulls reported specifically for LuaSwap, users should remain cautious and conduct thorough research before engaging with any DeFi protocol. The platform operates in a rapidly evolving regulatory environment, which may pose legal issues and affect its operations in the future.

What is Market depth?
Market depth is a metric, which is showing the real liquidity of the markets. Due to rampant wash-trading and fake activity - volume currently isn't the most reliable indicator in the crypto space.
What is it measuring?
It's measuring 1% or 10% section of the order book from the midpoint price (1%/10% of the buy orders, and 1%/10% of the sell orders).

Why it is important to use only 1% or 10%?
It's important, because measurement of the whole order book is going to give false results due to extreme values, which can make false illusion of liquidity for a given market.
How to use it?
By default Market depth is showing the most liquid markets sorted by Combined Orders (which is a sum of buy and sell orders). This way it provides the most interesting information already. Left (green) side of the market depth bar is showing how many buy orders are open, and right (red) side of the bar is showing how many sell orders are open (both can be recalculated to BTC, ETH or any fiat we have available on the site).

Confidence
Due to rampant malicious practices in the crypto exchanges environment, we have introduced in 2019 and 2020 new ways of evaluating exchanges and one of them is - Confidence. Because it's a new metric - it's essential to know how it works.
Confidence is weighted based on 3 principles:
Based on the liquidity from order books (75%) - including overall liquidity and market depth/volume ratio, volumes included, if exchange is low volume (below 2M USD volume 24h)
Based on web traffic (20%) - using Alexa rank as a main indicator of site popularity
Based on regulation (5%) - researching and evaluating licensing for exchange - by respective institutions
Adding all of these subscores give overall main result - Confidence
Confidence is mainly based on liquidity, because it's the most important aspect of cryptocurrency exchanges. Without liquidity there is no trading, illiquid markets tend to collapse in the long term. Besides liquidity - there is also an additional factor in calculation of score - market depth/volume ratio. If volume is huge (especially when it’s growing much faster than liquidity), and market depth seems to not keep pace with - it's reducing overall score. Exchanges that keep market makers liquidity with expanding volume are those that keep all ratios in-tact and have overall score above 75-80% (it means that they have all liquidity ratios above minimum requirements, high web traffic participation, and are often regulated).
