What is IMPT?
IMPT (IMPT) is a blockchain-based project launched in 2022, designed to facilitate carbon offsetting and promote environmental sustainability. The platform aims to address climate change by enabling users to earn and trade carbon credits through its innovative ecosystem. IMPT operates on the Ethereum blockchain, utilizing a proof-of-stake consensus mechanism that enhances energy efficiency and scalability. Its native token, IMPT, serves multiple functions within the ecosystem, including facilitating transactions for carbon credits, incentivizing users to engage in eco-friendly activities, and supporting various sustainability initiatives. What sets IMPT apart is its focus on integrating blockchain technology with environmental efforts, allowing individuals and businesses to contribute to carbon offsetting in a transparent and verifiable manner. This unique approach positions IMPT as a significant player in the growing intersection of cryptocurrency and environmental responsibility, appealing to eco-conscious users and investors alike.
When and how did IMPT start?
IMPT originated in October 2021 when the founding team released its whitepaper, outlining the project's vision to create a carbon credit marketplace using blockchain technology. The project launched its testnet in early 2022, allowing developers and early adopters to engage with the platform and provide feedback. Following successful testing, the mainnet was launched in December 2022, marking its official public availability. Early development focused on creating a sustainable ecosystem for carbon credits, enabling users to buy, sell, and trade carbon offsets. The token's initial distribution occurred through a presale event that started in October 2022 and concluded in November 2022, raising funds to support the project's growth and development. These foundational steps established IMPT's framework for future expansion and integration within the environmental sustainability sector.
What’s coming up for IMPT?
According to official updates, IMPT is preparing for the launch of its carbon credit marketplace, which is expected to go live in the first quarter of 2024. This marketplace aims to facilitate the buying and selling of carbon credits, enhancing the platform's utility in promoting sustainable practices. Additionally, IMPT is working on integrating with various environmental projects and organizations to expand its ecosystem and partnerships, with several collaborations targeted for mid-2024. These initiatives are designed to improve user engagement and broaden the impact of IMPT in the carbon offset market. Progress on these milestones will be tracked through updates on their official channels.

Who is IMPT designed for?
IMPT is designed for environmentally conscious consumers and businesses, enabling them to offset their carbon footprints through blockchain technology. It provides tools and resources, including a user-friendly platform for purchasing carbon credits, which can be tracked and verified on the blockchain. This allows users to engage in sustainable practices while contributing to climate action. Secondary participants such as developers and institutions can also engage with IMPT by utilizing its APIs and SDKs to integrate carbon offset solutions into their own applications and services. This fosters a collaborative ecosystem where various stakeholders can contribute to environmental sustainability efforts. By facilitating the purchase and trade of carbon credits, IMPT supports a broader goal of promoting transparency and accountability in carbon offsetting, appealing to users who prioritize sustainability in their decision-making processes.
How is IMPT secured?
IMPT utilizes a Proof of Stake (PoS) consensus mechanism, where validators confirm transactions and uphold the integrity of the network. In this model, participants can become validators by staking a certain amount of IMPT tokens, which grants them the ability to propose and validate new blocks. This staking requirement not only secures the network but also aligns the interests of validators with the overall health of the ecosystem. The protocol employs advanced cryptographic techniques, including Elliptic Curve Digital Signature Algorithm (ECDSA), to ensure secure authentication and data integrity. This cryptography safeguards user transactions and protects against unauthorized access. Incentive mechanisms are built into the network through staking rewards, which are distributed to validators for their participation in the consensus process. Additionally, the protocol incorporates slashing penalties for malicious behavior, such as double-signing or failing to validate transactions correctly, thereby discouraging any attempts to compromise the network. To further enhance security, IMPT undergoes regular audits and maintains governance processes that allow stakeholders to participate in decision-making, ensuring a robust and resilient network.
Has IMPT faced any controversy or risks?
IMPT has faced some risks primarily related to regulatory scrutiny and market volatility. As a project focused on carbon credits and environmental sustainability, it operates in a space that is increasingly attracting attention from regulators worldwide. The team has proactively addressed these concerns by ensuring compliance with applicable regulations and engaging with legal experts to navigate the evolving landscape. In terms of technical risks, like many blockchain projects, IMPT is susceptible to market fluctuations and security vulnerabilities. The team has implemented robust security measures, including regular audits and updates to their smart contracts, to mitigate potential exploits. They also maintain transparency with their community regarding ongoing risks and the steps taken to address them. Ongoing risks include potential changes in regulatory frameworks and market dynamics, which the team continues to monitor closely. They have established a risk management framework that includes regular assessments and updates to their operational practices to ensure resilience against such challenges.

What is Market depth?
Market depth is a metric, which is showing the real liquidity of the markets. Due to rampant wash-trading and fake activity - volume currently isn't the most reliable indicator in the crypto space.
What is it measuring?
It's measuring 1% or 10% section of the order book from the midpoint price (1%/10% of the buy orders, and 1%/10% of the sell orders).

Why it is important to use only 1% or 10%?
It's important, because measurement of the whole order book is going to give false results due to extreme values, which can make false illusion of liquidity for a given market.
How to use it?
By default Market depth is showing the most liquid markets sorted by Combined Orders (which is a sum of buy and sell orders). This way it provides the most interesting information already. Left (green) side of the market depth bar is showing how many buy orders are open, and right (red) side of the bar is showing how many sell orders are open (both can be recalculated to BTC, ETH or any fiat we have available on the site).

Confidence
Due to rampant malicious practices in the crypto exchanges environment, we have introduced in 2019 and 2020 new ways of evaluating exchanges and one of them is - Confidence. Because it's a new metric - it's essential to know how it works.
Confidence is weighted based on 3 principles:
Based on the liquidity from order books (75%) - including overall liquidity and market depth/volume ratio, volumes included, if exchange is low volume (below 2M USD volume 24h)
Based on web traffic (20%) - using Alexa rank as a main indicator of site popularity
Based on regulation (5%) - researching and evaluating licensing for exchange - by respective institutions
Adding all of these subscores give overall main result - Confidence
Confidence is mainly based on liquidity, because it's the most important aspect of cryptocurrency exchanges. Without liquidity there is no trading, illiquid markets tend to collapse in the long term. Besides liquidity - there is also an additional factor in calculation of score - market depth/volume ratio. If volume is huge (especially when it’s growing much faster than liquidity), and market depth seems to not keep pace with - it's reducing overall score. Exchanges that keep market makers liquidity with expanding volume are those that keep all ratios in-tact and have overall score above 75-80% (it means that they have all liquidity ratios above minimum requirements, high web traffic participation, and are often regulated).
