The project operates on a native Layer 1 blockchain, which enables efficient transaction processing and smart contract functionality. The native token, GINNAN, serves multiple purposes within the ecosystem, including transaction fees, governance participation, and staking rewards. This multifaceted utility allows holders to engage actively in the network's decision-making processes and earn rewards for their contributions. Ginnan stands out for its focus on user-friendly interfaces and accessibility, aiming to attract both seasoned crypto enthusiasts and newcomers. Its commitment to fostering a robust DeFi environment positions it as a significant player in the evolving landscape of decentralized finance, addressing the growing demand for innovative financial solutions.
When and how did Ginnan start?
Ginnan originated in March 2021 when the founding team released its whitepaper, outlining the project's vision and technical framework. The project launched its testnet in June 2021, allowing developers and early adopters to experiment with the platform's features and functionalities. Following the successful testing phase, Ginnan transitioned to its mainnet launch in September 2021, marking its official entry into the blockchain ecosystem. Early development focused on creating a decentralized platform aimed at enhancing user engagement and interaction within the crypto space. The token's initial distribution occurred through a fair launch model in October 2021, which allowed participants to acquire tokens without the constraints of traditional fundraising methods. These foundational steps set the stage for Ginnan's growth and the establishment of its community-driven ecosystem.
What’s coming up for Ginnan?
According to official updates, Ginnan is preparing for a significant protocol upgrade scheduled for Q1 2024, aimed at enhancing scalability and performance. This upgrade is expected to introduce new features that will improve user experience and transaction efficiency. Additionally, Ginnan is working on strategic partnerships with several blockchain projects, with integration timelines targeted for mid-2024. These initiatives are designed to expand Ginnan's ecosystem and increase its utility within the broader crypto landscape. Progress on these milestones will be tracked through official channels, ensuring transparency and community engagement throughout the development process.

Holders can stake their GINNAN tokens to help secure the network, contributing to its overall stability while potentially earning rewards in return. Additionally, GINNAN may offer governance features, allowing token holders to participate in decision-making processes regarding protocol upgrades and changes. This democratic approach empowers users to have a say in the future direction of the project. For developers, Ginnan provides tools and resources for building dApps and integrations, fostering innovation within the ecosystem. The Ginnan network supports various wallets and marketplaces, facilitating seamless transactions and interactions for users. Overall, GINNAN enhances the functionality and engagement of its community, catering to both users and developers alike.
Is Ginnan still active or relevant?
Ginnan remains active through a recent governance proposal announced in September 2023, which aims to enhance its ecosystem functionality. Development currently focuses on improving transaction efficiency and expanding its decentralized finance (DeFi) capabilities. The project maintains a presence on several major exchanges, with consistent trading volume indicating ongoing market interest. Additionally, Ginnan has integrated with various decentralized applications, further solidifying its role within the DeFi sector. These indicators support its continued relevance in the cryptocurrency landscape, demonstrating a commitment to innovation and community engagement.
Who is Ginnan designed for?
Ginnan is designed for developers and consumers, enabling them to create and utilize decentralized applications effectively. It provides essential tools and resources, including SDKs and APIs, to facilitate development and integration into various platforms. This support allows developers to build innovative solutions while ensuring a seamless user experience for consumers engaging with these applications. Secondary participants, such as validators and liquidity providers, engage through staking and governance mechanisms, contributing to the network's security and decision-making processes. This collaborative environment fosters a robust ecosystem where all participants can thrive, aligning their goals with the overall mission of Ginnan to enhance accessibility and functionality within the blockchain space.
How is Ginnan secured?
Ginnan employs a Proof of Stake (PoS) consensus mechanism, where validators are responsible for confirming transactions and maintaining the integrity of the network. This model requires participants to hold and stake Ginnan tokens, which not only secures the network but also aligns their financial interests with the overall health of the ecosystem. The protocol utilizes advanced cryptographic techniques, such as Elliptic Curve Digital Signature Algorithm (ECDSA), to ensure secure authentication and data integrity. This cryptography safeguards against unauthorized access and ensures that transactions are verifiable and tamper-proof. Incentives for validators include staking rewards, which are distributed based on their participation in the network, while slashing penalties are imposed for malicious behavior or failure to validate transactions correctly. This dual mechanism encourages honest participation and discourages actions that could compromise network security. Additional safeguards include regular audits and a governance framework that allows stakeholders to propose and vote on protocol changes, enhancing the resilience and adaptability of the network. The diversity of client implementations further contributes to the robustness of Ginnan's security architecture.
Has Ginnan faced any controversy or risks?
Ginnan has faced some controversy related to security risks, particularly concerning its smart contract vulnerabilities identified in early 2023. A third-party audit revealed potential exploits that could compromise user funds. In response, the Ginnan team promptly implemented a patch to address these vulnerabilities and conducted a thorough review of their codebase to enhance security measures. Additionally, the project has encountered regulatory scrutiny due to its token distribution model, which raised questions about compliance with local laws in various jurisdictions. The team has actively engaged with legal advisors to ensure adherence to regulations and has made adjustments to its tokenomics to mitigate these concerns. Ongoing risks for Ginnan include market volatility and the potential for future technical vulnerabilities, which are common in the blockchain space. To address these risks, Ginnan has established a bug bounty program to incentivize community members to report issues and has committed to regular security audits to maintain transparency and trust within its ecosystem.

What is Market depth?
Market depth is a metric, which is showing the real liquidity of the markets. Due to rampant wash-trading and fake activity - volume currently isn't the most reliable indicator in the crypto space.
What is it measuring?
It's measuring 1% or 10% section of the order book from the midpoint price (1%/10% of the buy orders, and 1%/10% of the sell orders).

Why it is important to use only 1% or 10%?
It's important, because measurement of the whole order book is going to give false results due to extreme values, which can make false illusion of liquidity for a given market.
How to use it?
By default Market depth is showing the most liquid markets sorted by Combined Orders (which is a sum of buy and sell orders). This way it provides the most interesting information already. Left (green) side of the market depth bar is showing how many buy orders are open, and right (red) side of the bar is showing how many sell orders are open (both can be recalculated to BTC, ETH or any fiat we have available on the site).

Confidence
Due to rampant malicious practices in the crypto exchanges environment, we have introduced in 2019 and 2020 new ways of evaluating exchanges and one of them is - Confidence. Because it's a new metric - it's essential to know how it works.
Confidence is weighted based on 3 principles:
Based on the liquidity from order books (75%) - including overall liquidity and market depth/volume ratio, volumes included, if exchange is low volume (below 2M USD volume 24h)
Based on web traffic (20%) - using Alexa rank as a main indicator of site popularity
Based on regulation (5%) - researching and evaluating licensing for exchange - by respective institutions
Adding all of these subscores give overall main result - Confidence
Confidence is mainly based on liquidity, because it's the most important aspect of cryptocurrency exchanges. Without liquidity there is no trading, illiquid markets tend to collapse in the long term. Besides liquidity - there is also an additional factor in calculation of score - market depth/volume ratio. If volume is huge (especially when it’s growing much faster than liquidity), and market depth seems to not keep pace with - it's reducing overall score. Exchanges that keep market makers liquidity with expanding volume are those that keep all ratios in-tact and have overall score above 75-80% (it means that they have all liquidity ratios above minimum requirements, high web traffic participation, and are often regulated).
