DragonX (DRGX) is a cryptocurrency exchange platform launched in 2019 by a team of blockchain enthusiasts. It was created to provide a secure and efficient trading environment for digital assets, catering to both novice and experienced traders. The platform operates on a centralized exchange model, enabling users to trade a wide variety of cryptocurrencies with high liquidity and low transaction fees. Its native token, DRGX, serves multiple purposes within the ecosystem, including trading fee discounts, staking rewards, and participation in governance decisions. DragonX stands out for its user-friendly interface and robust security measures, including multi-signature wallets and advanced encryption protocols. Additionally, it offers unique features such as margin trading and a comprehensive suite of trading tools, positioning it as a significant player in the competitive cryptocurrency exchange landscape.
When and how did DragonX start?
DragonX originated in October 2019 when the founding team released its whitepaper, outlining the project's vision and technical framework. The platform aimed to create a decentralized exchange that would enhance trading efficiency and user experience. Following the whitepaper release, DragonX launched its testnet in December 2019, allowing users to explore its features and functionalities in a controlled environment. The mainnet was subsequently launched in March 2020, marking the project's transition to a fully operational decentralized exchange. Early development focused on building a robust trading platform with advanced features, including liquidity provision and user-friendly interfaces. The initial distribution of the DragonX token occurred through an Initial Exchange Offering (IEO) in April 2020, which helped raise funds for further development and marketing efforts. These foundational steps established DragonX as a competitive player in the decentralized finance space, paving the way for its future growth and ecosystem expansion.
What’s coming up for DragonX?
According to official updates, DragonX is preparing for a significant protocol upgrade aimed at enhancing scalability and performance, scheduled for Q1 2024. This upgrade is expected to introduce new features that will improve user experience and transaction efficiency. Additionally, DragonX is working on integrating with several strategic partners, with these collaborations targeted for completion by mid-2024. These initiatives aim to expand the ecosystem and enhance the platform's overall functionality. Progress on these milestones will be monitored through their official channels, ensuring transparency and community engagement throughout the development process.

This allows developers to create innovative solutions that enhance user engagement and trading capabilities. The platform's focus on accessibility and user experience ensures that both novice and experienced traders can navigate the ecosystem effectively, achieving their trading goals while benefiting from the broader community dynamics.
How is DragonX secured?
DragonX employs a Proof of Stake (PoS) consensus mechanism, where validators are responsible for confirming transactions and maintaining the integrity of the network. This model allows participants to stake their tokens, which not only secures the network but also incentivizes them to act honestly. Validators are selected to create new blocks based on the amount of cryptocurrency they hold and are willing to "stake" as collateral. The protocol utilizes advanced cryptographic techniques, including Elliptic Curve Digital Signature Algorithm (ECDSA), to ensure secure authentication and data integrity. This cryptography safeguards transactions against unauthorized alterations and ensures that only legitimate participants can validate transactions. Incentives are aligned through staking rewards, which are distributed to validators for their contributions to the network. Additionally, a slashing mechanism is in place to penalize malicious behavior or failures in maintaining network uptime, thereby discouraging dishonest actions. The network's resilience is further enhanced by regular audits and governance processes that ensure transparency and accountability among participants.
Has DragonX faced any controversy or risks?
DragonX has faced regulatory scrutiny, particularly regarding compliance with local laws in various jurisdictions. In mid-2021, the platform was involved in discussions with regulatory bodies to ensure adherence to anti-money laundering (AML) and know your customer (KYC) regulations. The team responded by enhancing their compliance measures, implementing stricter KYC protocols, and increasing transparency in their operations. Additionally, DragonX has encountered technical risks associated with security vulnerabilities, common in the cryptocurrency exchange sector. In response to these risks, the team has conducted regular security audits and implemented a bug bounty program to incentivize external security researchers to identify and report vulnerabilities. Ongoing risks for DragonX include market volatility and potential regulatory changes that could impact operations. The team continues to mitigate these risks through proactive engagement with regulators, ongoing security assessments, and maintaining a robust compliance framework to adapt to evolving legal landscapes.

What is Market depth?
Market depth is a metric, which is showing the real liquidity of the markets. Due to rampant wash-trading and fake activity - volume currently isn't the most reliable indicator in the crypto space.
What is it measuring?
It's measuring 1% or 10% section of the order book from the midpoint price (1%/10% of the buy orders, and 1%/10% of the sell orders).

Why it is important to use only 1% or 10%?
It's important, because measurement of the whole order book is going to give false results due to extreme values, which can make false illusion of liquidity for a given market.
How to use it?
By default Market depth is showing the most liquid markets sorted by Combined Orders (which is a sum of buy and sell orders). This way it provides the most interesting information already. Left (green) side of the market depth bar is showing how many buy orders are open, and right (red) side of the bar is showing how many sell orders are open (both can be recalculated to BTC, ETH or any fiat we have available on the site).

Confidence
Due to rampant malicious practices in the crypto exchanges environment, we have introduced in 2019 and 2020 new ways of evaluating exchanges and one of them is - Confidence. Because it's a new metric - it's essential to know how it works.
Confidence is weighted based on 3 principles:
Based on the liquidity from order books (75%) - including overall liquidity and market depth/volume ratio, volumes included, if exchange is low volume (below 2M USD volume 24h)
Based on web traffic (20%) - using Alexa rank as a main indicator of site popularity
Based on regulation (5%) - researching and evaluating licensing for exchange - by respective institutions
Adding all of these subscores give overall main result - Confidence
Confidence is mainly based on liquidity, because it's the most important aspect of cryptocurrency exchanges. Without liquidity there is no trading, illiquid markets tend to collapse in the long term. Besides liquidity - there is also an additional factor in calculation of score - market depth/volume ratio. If volume is huge (especially when it’s growing much faster than liquidity), and market depth seems to not keep pace with - it's reducing overall score. Exchanges that keep market makers liquidity with expanding volume are those that keep all ratios in-tact and have overall score above 75-80% (it means that they have all liquidity ratios above minimum requirements, high web traffic participation, and are often regulated).

Historical Market Depth is showing the history of liquidity from the markets for a given asset. It’s a measure of combined liquidity from all integrated markets on the coinpaprika’s market depth module.
