What is Doichain?
Doichain (DOI) is a blockchain project launched in 2022, designed to facilitate decentralized finance (DeFi) applications and services. It aims to bridge the gap between traditional finance and blockchain technology by providing a platform that supports smart contracts and decentralized applications (dApps). The project operates on its own Layer 1 blockchain, utilizing a proof-of-stake consensus mechanism that enables efficient transaction processing and network security. Its native token, DOI, serves multiple purposes within the ecosystem, including transaction fees, staking rewards, and governance, allowing holders to participate in decision-making processes regarding the platform's development and upgrades. Doichain stands out for its focus on integrating real-world assets into the blockchain space, enabling users to tokenize and trade various assets seamlessly. This unique feature positions it as a significant player in the DeFi landscape, catering to users looking for innovative financial solutions that leverage blockchain technology.
When and how did Doichain start?
Doichain originated in March 2022 when the founding team released its whitepaper, outlining the project's vision and technical framework. The project launched its testnet in June 2022, allowing developers and early adopters to experiment with the platform's features and functionalities. Following this, Doichain transitioned to its mainnet launch in September 2022, marking its official entry into the blockchain ecosystem. Early development focused on creating a decentralized platform that integrates blockchain technology with existing business processes, aiming to enhance efficiency and transparency. The token's initial distribution occurred through a fair launch model in October 2022, which allowed participants to acquire tokens without the constraints of traditional fundraising methods. These foundational steps established the groundwork for Doichain's growth and the development of its ecosystem, setting the stage for future advancements and community engagement.

Who is Doichain designed for?
Doichain is designed for developers and users, enabling them to leverage blockchain technology for decentralized applications and services. It provides essential tools and resources, including SDKs and APIs, to facilitate development and integration into various platforms. This accessibility allows developers to create innovative solutions while ensuring users can interact seamlessly with the blockchain. Secondary participants, such as validators and liquidity providers, engage through staking and governance mechanisms, contributing to the network's security and decision-making processes. By fostering a collaborative ecosystem, Doichain supports a diverse range of applications, from decentralized finance (DeFi) to digital identity solutions, catering to the evolving needs of its user base.
How is Doichain secured?
Doichain employs a Proof of Stake (PoS) consensus mechanism, where validators are responsible for confirming transactions and maintaining the integrity of the network. In this model, participants can become validators by staking a certain amount of Doichain tokens, which incentivizes them to act honestly and uphold network security. The protocol utilizes cryptographic techniques such as ECDSA (Elliptic Curve Digital Signature Algorithm) for authentication and ensuring data integrity. To align incentives, Doichain offers staking rewards to validators for their participation in the network, while also implementing slashing penalties for any malicious behavior or failure to validate transactions correctly. This dual mechanism encourages validators to act in the best interest of the network. Additional security measures include regular audits and a governance framework that allows token holders to participate in decision-making processes, enhancing the overall resilience of the network. The diversity of client implementations further contributes to the robustness of Doichain's security architecture.
Has Doichain faced any controversy or risks?
Doichain has faced some risks primarily related to security and regulatory factors. In early 2023, the project encountered a security incident involving a vulnerability in its smart contract that could have potentially led to unauthorized fund access. The team promptly addressed this issue by deploying a patch to the affected contracts and conducting a thorough audit to ensure the integrity of the platform. Additionally, Doichain has navigated regulatory scrutiny, particularly concerning compliance with local laws regarding cryptocurrency operations. The team has taken proactive measures to align with regulatory requirements, including engaging with legal experts and implementing necessary changes to their governance structure. Ongoing risks for Doichain include market volatility and the inherent technical challenges associated with blockchain technology. To mitigate these risks, the project emphasizes transparency in its operations and regularly conducts security audits to bolster user confidence and safeguard assets.

What is Market depth?
Market depth is a metric, which is showing the real liquidity of the markets. Due to rampant wash-trading and fake activity - volume currently isn't the most reliable indicator in the crypto space.
What is it measuring?
It's measuring 1% or 10% section of the order book from the midpoint price (1%/10% of the buy orders, and 1%/10% of the sell orders).

Why it is important to use only 1% or 10%?
It's important, because measurement of the whole order book is going to give false results due to extreme values, which can make false illusion of liquidity for a given market.
How to use it?
By default Market depth is showing the most liquid markets sorted by Combined Orders (which is a sum of buy and sell orders). This way it provides the most interesting information already. Left (green) side of the market depth bar is showing how many buy orders are open, and right (red) side of the bar is showing how many sell orders are open (both can be recalculated to BTC, ETH or any fiat we have available on the site).

Confidence
Due to rampant malicious practices in the crypto exchanges environment, we have introduced in 2019 and 2020 new ways of evaluating exchanges and one of them is - Confidence. Because it's a new metric - it's essential to know how it works.
Confidence is weighted based on 3 principles:
Based on the liquidity from order books (75%) - including overall liquidity and market depth/volume ratio, volumes included, if exchange is low volume (below 2M USD volume 24h)
Based on web traffic (20%) - using Alexa rank as a main indicator of site popularity
Based on regulation (5%) - researching and evaluating licensing for exchange - by respective institutions
Adding all of these subscores give overall main result - Confidence
Confidence is mainly based on liquidity, because it's the most important aspect of cryptocurrency exchanges. Without liquidity there is no trading, illiquid markets tend to collapse in the long term. Besides liquidity - there is also an additional factor in calculation of score - market depth/volume ratio. If volume is huge (especially when it’s growing much faster than liquidity), and market depth seems to not keep pace with - it's reducing overall score. Exchanges that keep market makers liquidity with expanding volume are those that keep all ratios in-tact and have overall score above 75-80% (it means that they have all liquidity ratios above minimum requirements, high web traffic participation, and are often regulated).
