US may soon allow Ethereum futures ETF trading, say Bloomberg experts. This comes as the SEC rushes decisions possibly before a government shutdown.
The United States might see Ethereum futures exchange-traded funds (ETFs) trading as early as next week, experts from Bloomberg say.
Bloomberg Intelligence analyst, James Seyffart, mentioned that the SEC is likely to approve several Ethereum futures ETFs soon. Another expert, Eric Balchunas, shared that the SEC is trying to move quickly on this, possibly before a government shutdown which could happen if Congress doesn't decide on funding soon.
Currently, 15 Ethereum futures ETFs from nine different companies are waiting for a green light. Some of the companies involved are VanEck, Grayscale, and Bitwise. These experts believe there's a strong chance that these ETFs will start trading in October.
Back in August, news suggested the approval of Ethereum futures ETFs could happen in October. This made Ethereum's price jump 11% at that time. However, it's worth noting that even though this is big news for Ethereum, a Bitcoin futures ETF already exist in the US since 2021
