UNDERSTAND WHAT YOU ARE SCREENING
Combine size, direction and trading activity. The “breakout” preset screens for price and volume increases; it does not test a technical resistance breakout. A rising price with rising volume tells a different story from a price move on declining activity. These screens identify candidates for further research, not buy or sell recommendations.
Percentage & nominal changes
Price Δ $ = current price − earlier price. Price change % = (current ÷ earlier − 1) × 100. Volume Δ compares total USD traded in the last 24 hours with the 24 hours before; its percentage change uses the earlier window as the denominator.
Why 7-day volume change is blank
Over 7 days the volume is the rolling total of the last seven 24-hour windows. The week before it is not published yet, so 7-day volume change shows a dash instead of a guess, and presets built on it find nothing until you switch to 24 hours.
Activity & relative performance
Turnover = selected-window volume ÷ current market cap × 100. Return vs BTC is the asset’s return minus Bitcoin’s return over the same window, in percentage points (pp).
The screener reads the top 500 assets by CoinPaprika rank from the live coins listing, in US dollars, refreshed every few minutes. Every view, export and share carries the time the data was read. In another display currency, amounts are converted from US dollars at the current rate; screen links, saved screens and the CSV stay in US dollars.
Missing values and zero denominators stay unavailable, shown as a dash and left blank in the CSV, never counted as zero. Reported volume is trading activity, not executable liquidity.
Price acceleration, volume acceleration and relative volume need earlier equal windows that are not available yet, so those presets and columns are not shown. Saved screens stay in this browser; links carry the filter settings, not prices.
