Kroma is set to launch its KRO airdrop, rewarding active users in its ecosystem with tokens as part of its Ethereum Layer 2 scaling initiative.

Kroma, an Ethereum (ETH) Layer 2 (L2) scaling solution, is preparing to launch an airdrop for its upcoming token, KRO, as part of a broader strategy to enhance user engagement and ecosystem development. This airdrop presents an opportunity for users actively participating within Kroma’s ecosystem to earn KRO tokens based on their contributions and engagement. Kroma’s platform aims to optimize the Ethereum network’s performance, offering a range of services that include staking, reward systems, and support for decentralized finance (DeFi) applications.

The airdrop centers around Spectrum, Kroma’s staking service, where users can stake assets like ETH, stETH, and eETH to earn spETH, a staking reward token, and Kroma Spectrum Points (KSP). These points are an essential part of the Kroma ecosystem and can be earned through interactions with DeFi services and games integrated with spETH on the platform. KSP holders will eventually be rewarded with KRO tokens, and those actively involved in Spectrum’s ecosystem will benefit from additional opportunities to increase their KSP earnings.

To participate in the Spectrum Kroma airdrop, users should connect their wallets on the Spectrum Kroma airdrop page. By staking assets and engaging in Spectrum’s DeFi services and gaming ecosystem, users can accumulate KSP, which can be converted to KRO. Additionally, users can earn other rewards, including EigenLayer points, WEMIX.e airdrop allocations, ether.fi loyalty points, and Kroma Spectrum Points. Furthermore, users who invite friends to the platform can earn extra points through a referral link, provided they hold at least 0.001 ETH on Kroma or specific Kroma NFTs, like the Kroma Quest Master or Guardian House NFTs.

Kroma also offers various opportunities beyond Spectrum. The Kroma Creative Universe (KCU) campaign, for example, allows users to earn KRO allocations ahead of the Token Generation Event (TGE) by completing tasks and quests. Within KCU, users can participate in the Pro Gamer’s Season 2 to earn Ores, which are then refined into Mystic Alloys. These can be further fused into Mystic Boxes, providing a chance to unlock special Pro Gamer items. On July 18, KCU will open features like the Gate and Armory, allowing users to summon Kroman profile picture (PFP) NFTs and equip them with forged items.

Additional interactions with the Kroma network can increase a user’s eligibility for the airdrop. Activities such as bridging ETH from Ethereum mainnet to Kroma, transacting on Kroma’s Hypermarket NFT marketplace, swapping tokens, or providing liquidity via Izumi Finance contribute to a user's engagement score. Users can also deploy their own ERC-20 tokens or smart contracts on Kroma using Merkly or Owl.to. Active participants in the Superchain community—including Optimism and Base—are also eligible for KRO allocations, along with holders of Kroma’s NFTs and members of the WEMIX community who have accumulated WEMIX Community Points (WCP).

The final snapshot for KRO eligibility will be taken shortly before the TGE, with specific timing to be announced. Kroma encourages interested participants to stay updated through official channels and social media platforms for additional information on the airdrop.
