CoinDesk Gets New Boss and Team Changes After Being Bought by Bullish
CoinDesk appoints Sara Stratoberdha as CEO following Bullish acquisition, revamps leadership
Following its acquisition by crypto exchange Bullish, CoinDesk, a key player in the cryptocurrency media space, announces Sara Stratoberdha as its new CEO, taking over from Kevin Worth who has been at the helm since 2017. Stratoberdha, who led business development at Bullish, pledges to preserve CoinDesk's editorial independence under its new parent company. The leadership shuffle doesn't stop with the CEO; it includes the exit of several top executives such as Elinor Hirschhorn, the COO and President of Media, John DeGuenther, the VP of Engineering, and Emily Parker, the Executive Director of Global Strategy. Michael Casey, Chief Content Officer, is transitioning away from a full-time role but may remain in a different capacity.
Bullish CEO Tom Farley detailed the restructuring in a memo, aiming to simplify CoinDesk's organizational structure. This includes integrating certain CoinDesk departments with Bullish and merging tech and product teams. Farley commended the outgoing team for their role in expanding CoinDesk and facilitating its integration with Bullish, expressing gratitude and well wishes for their future endeavors. This overhaul marks a new chapter for CoinDesk, emphasizing a commitment to journalistic integrity while navigating its integration with Bullish, ensuring the platform continues to serve as a trusted source in the crypto news landscape.
