BlackRock boosts its Bitcoin ETF board, adding MoonPay's chief legal officer

BlackRock is reshaping its leadership, announcing that Lindsey Haswell from MoonPay will join the board of its high-profile $IBIT spot Bitcoin ETF.

This ETF is one of the most actively traded and holds the second-largest asset size position, next only to Grayscale's GBTC when it's not included.

Haswell is a prominent figure in the crypto world because of her role at MoonPay and as a founding member of the Core blockchain, where she contributes to the Core Dao.

The Core blockchain, compatible with the Ethereum Virtual Machine, uses Bitcoin’s proof-of-work mechanism, ensuring robust security.

Starting November 6, 2024, Haswell will replace financier Kimun Lee on the BlackRock $IBIT board, signaling a significant change within the company’s management as it aligns with the dynamic crypto market.

Her previous experience at Blockchain.com adds to her qualifications, enhancing her contribution to BlackRock.

The $IBIT ETF, under BlackRock, has shown significant trading volumes recently, leading in its category and affirming BlackRock's strategic intent to expand its influence in the cryptocurrency sector.
