Ripple co-founder Chris Larsen joins 88 business leaders in endorsing Kamala Harris’ presidential campaign ahead of her debate with Donald Trump.

Eighty-eight corporate leaders, including Chris Larsen, Ripple’s co-founder, have expressed their support for US Vice President Kamala Harris’ presidential campaign through a strategic endorsement letter. This show of support comes as Harris prepares for the upcoming presidential debate.

Corporate Leaders Endorse Kamala Harris

A day after Russian President Vladimir Putin showed his backing for Harris, a group of corporate leaders rallied behind the Democratic nominee. Among these leaders was Chris Larsen, who is currently navigating Ripple’s legal battle with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).

The endorsement letter was not meant to sway voters directly, but to serve as a political statement ahead of the September 10 debate between Harris and Donald Trump. The signers of the letter believe that Harris is the best choice to ensure the continued strength of democracy and a stable economy. Key business figures like Aaron Levie from Box, Jeremy Stoppelman from Yelp, and Dan Schulman, the former CEO of PayPal, also signed the letter, adding to its significance.

Growing Support for Kamala Harris

The Democratic nominee has attracted attention from various prominent individuals in both business and politics. Notably, Mark Cuban, a billionaire investor with pro-crypto leanings, joined Chris Larsen in endorsing Harris. Cuban has been involved in initiatives like Crypto4Harris, which advocated for a crypto-friendly approach to Harris’ campaign.

Harris' growing support comes alongside reports that her campaign might be more open to cryptocurrency donations. Although Harris herself has not directly accepted crypto, her Future Forward political action committee (PAC) has started using Coinbase’s Commerce platform, which indicates a potential shift towards crypto donations in the future.

International Endorsements for Harris

Harris has also gained global support, with Russian President Vladimir Putin voicing his endorsement. During a session at the Eastern Economic Forum (EEF), Putin mentioned that the Russian government would follow Joe Biden’s recommendation to support Harris’ candidacy. Putin even praised Harris' distinctive laugh, suggesting that it reflects positive energy and optimism.

Putin’s endorsement highlights the international interest in the US elections, adding a global dimension to the backing Harris is receiving from various business and political leaders.

Harris and the Crypto Sector

As Harris' campaign gains momentum, the crypto sector continues to watch her closely. Her decision to accept donations through digital platforms like Coinbase’s Commerce may signal a more crypto-friendly stance as the campaign progresses. While Harris has yet to take a public position on cryptocurrency regulation, the involvement of her PAC with crypto donations suggests that her campaign might be more open to digital assets than previously thought.

In conclusion, Kamala Harris’ campaign has received substantial backing from corporate leaders and global figures alike, including support from key players in the crypto industry. As the campaign evolves, it will be interesting to see how Harris navigates the crypto sector and whether her stance will evolve to reflect a more digital asset-friendly position.
