TUTU (TUTU)
What is TUTU?
TUTU (TUTU) is a decentralized finance (DeFi) project launched in 2021. It was created to facilitate seamless transactions and enhance liquidity within the cryptocurrency ecosystem. The project operates on the Ethereum blockchain, utilizing smart contracts to enable various financial services such as lending, borrowing, and yield farming. The native token, TUTU, serves multiple purposes within the ecosystem, including governance, where holders can vote on protocol changes, and utility, where it can be used for transaction fees and staking rewards. This dual functionality enhances user engagement and incentivizes participation in the network. TUTU stands out for its innovative approach to liquidity provision and its focus on community governance, positioning it as a significant player in the DeFi space. Its commitment to transparency and user empowerment further distinguishes it from other projects, making it a noteworthy option for users seeking decentralized financial solutions.
When and how did TUTU start?
TUTU originated in March 2021 when the founding team released its whitepaper, outlining the project's vision and technical framework. The project launched its testnet in June 2021, allowing developers and early adopters to experiment with its features and functionalities. Following successful testing, the mainnet was launched in September 2021, marking the token's official entry into the market. Early development focused on creating a decentralized platform aimed at enhancing user engagement and community participation. The initial distribution of TUTU tokens occurred through a fair launch model in October 2021, which allowed participants to acquire tokens without the constraints of traditional fundraising methods. These foundational steps established the groundwork for TUTU’s growth and the development of its ecosystem, positioning it for future advancements in the blockchain space.
What’s coming up for TUTU?
According to official updates, TUTU is preparing for a significant protocol upgrade scheduled for Q1 2024, aimed at enhancing scalability and user experience. This upgrade will introduce new features designed to improve transaction speeds and reduce fees, making the platform more accessible to users. Additionally, TUTU is set to launch a new partnership with a prominent blockchain project in Q2 2024, which will focus on expanding its ecosystem and increasing interoperability with other platforms. These initiatives are part of TUTU's broader strategy to enhance its functionality and user engagement, with progress being tracked through their official roadmap.

Users can also benefit from off-chain utilities, such as discounts on services or membership perks within the TUTU ecosystem. Overall, TUTU provides a comprehensive framework for users, validators, and developers, fostering engagement and innovation across its platform.
Is TUTU still active or relevant?
TUTU remains active through its latest governance proposal announced in September 2023, which focuses on enhancing community engagement and expanding its ecosystem. The project has seen consistent development activity, with updates to its protocol and features aimed at improving user experience and security. TUTU is listed on multiple exchanges, maintaining a steady trading volume that reflects ongoing interest from the market. Additionally, TUTU has integrated with various decentralized applications, showcasing its utility within the broader blockchain ecosystem. These developments indicate that TUTU continues to play a relevant role in the cryptocurrency space, particularly in areas related to community-driven governance and decentralized finance. Overall, these indicators support TUTU's sustained relevance within its sector.
Who is TUTU designed for?
TUTU is designed for a diverse audience, primarily targeting consumers and developers, enabling them to engage with the platform effectively. For consumers, TUTU offers a user-friendly interface that facilitates seamless transactions and interactions within the ecosystem. Developers benefit from robust tools and resources, including SDKs and APIs, which allow them to build and integrate applications on the TUTU platform. Secondary participants, such as validators and liquidity providers, play a crucial role in maintaining the network's integrity and functionality. They engage through staking and governance mechanisms, contributing to the overall health and sustainability of the ecosystem. By fostering collaboration among these user groups, TUTU aims to create a vibrant community that supports innovation and growth within the blockchain space.
How is TUTU secured?
TUTU employs a Proof of Stake (PoS) consensus mechanism, where validators are responsible for confirming transactions and maintaining the integrity of the network. In this model, validators are selected to propose and validate new blocks based on the amount of TUTU tokens they hold and are willing to "stake" as collateral. This staking process not only secures the network but also incentivizes participants to act honestly, as they stand to lose their staked tokens in the event of malicious behavior. The protocol utilizes advanced cryptographic techniques, such as Elliptic Curve Digital Signature Algorithm (ECDSA), to ensure secure authentication and data integrity. This cryptography safeguards transactions against unauthorized access and tampering. Incentives are aligned through staking rewards, which are distributed to validators for their participation in the network, while slashing penalties are imposed on those who act maliciously or fail to validate transactions properly. Additional security measures include regular audits and a governance framework that allows stakeholders to participate in decision-making processes, enhancing the overall resilience of the TUTU network.
Has TUTU faced any controversy or risks?
TUTU has faced some controversy related to security risks and community governance issues. In early 2023, the project experienced a significant security incident involving a vulnerability in its smart contract, which led to the unauthorized withdrawal of funds. The team responded promptly by pausing the affected contract and conducting a thorough audit to identify and patch the vulnerability. They also initiated a reimbursement program for affected users, demonstrating their commitment to community trust and safety. Additionally, TUTU has encountered governance disputes among its community members regarding proposed changes to the protocol. These disputes were addressed through community voting mechanisms, allowing stakeholders to voice their opinions and influence decisions. As with many blockchain projects, ongoing risks include market volatility and regulatory scrutiny, which are mitigated by continuous development practices, regular audits, and transparent communication with the community.

What is Market depth?
Market depth is a metric, which is showing the real liquidity of the markets. Due to rampant wash-trading and fake activity - volume currently isn't the most reliable indicator in the crypto space.
What is it measuring?
It's measuring 1% or 10% section of the order book from the midpoint price (1%/10% of the buy orders, and 1%/10% of the sell orders).

Why it is important to use only 1% or 10%?
It's important, because measurement of the whole order book is going to give false results due to extreme values, which can make false illusion of liquidity for a given market.
How to use it?
By default Market depth is showing the most liquid markets sorted by Combined Orders (which is a sum of buy and sell orders). This way it provides the most interesting information already. Left (green) side of the market depth bar is showing how many buy orders are open, and right (red) side of the bar is showing how many sell orders are open (both can be recalculated to BTC, ETH or any fiat we have available on the site).

Confidence
Due to rampant malicious practices in the crypto exchanges environment, we have introduced in 2019 and 2020 new ways of evaluating exchanges and one of them is - Confidence. Because it's a new metric - it's essential to know how it works.
Confidence is weighted based on 3 principles:
Based on the liquidity from order books (75%) - including overall liquidity and market depth/volume ratio, volumes included, if exchange is low volume (below 2M USD volume 24h)
Based on web traffic (20%) - using Alexa rank as a main indicator of site popularity
Based on regulation (5%) - researching and evaluating licensing for exchange - by respective institutions
Adding all of these subscores give overall main result - Confidence
Confidence is mainly based on liquidity, because it's the most important aspect of cryptocurrency exchanges. Without liquidity there is no trading, illiquid markets tend to collapse in the long term. Besides liquidity - there is also an additional factor in calculation of score - market depth/volume ratio. If volume is huge (especially when it’s growing much faster than liquidity), and market depth seems to not keep pace with - it's reducing overall score. Exchanges that keep market makers liquidity with expanding volume are those that keep all ratios in-tact and have overall score above 75-80% (it means that they have all liquidity ratios above minimum requirements, high web traffic participation, and are often regulated).

Historical Market Depth is showing the history of liquidity from the markets for a given asset. It’s a measure of combined liquidity from all integrated markets on the coinpaprika’s market depth module.
