BitBall (BTB) is a cryptocurrency project launched in 2020, designed to facilitate a decentralized ecosystem for various financial transactions. The primary aim of BitBall is to provide a platform that enhances the efficiency of digital payments and supports the development of decentralized applications (dApps). The project operates on its own blockchain, utilizing a unique consensus mechanism that enables fast and secure transactions. BitBall's native token, BTB, serves multiple purposes within the ecosystem, including transaction fees, staking, and governance, allowing holders to participate in decision-making processes related to the platform's development. BitBall stands out for its innovative approach to integrating various financial services, such as lending and trading, into a single platform. This versatility positions it as a significant player in the evolving landscape of decentralized finance (DeFi), aiming to provide users with a comprehensive suite of tools for managing their digital assets.
When and how did BitBall start?
BitBall originated in December 2018 when the founding team released its whitepaper, outlining the project's vision and technical framework. The project aimed to create a decentralized ecosystem for digital assets, focusing on enhancing the utility of its token within various applications. The initial development phase saw the launch of the testnet in early 2019, allowing developers and early adopters to experiment with the platform's features. Following this, the mainnet was launched in March 2019, marking the project's transition to a fully operational blockchain environment. BitBall's initial distribution occurred through an Initial Coin Offering (ICO) in December 2018, which facilitated the funding necessary for further development and marketing efforts. This structured approach to distribution and development laid the groundwork for BitBall's growth and the establishment of its ecosystem, aiming to provide users with innovative financial solutions.

Who is BitBall designed for?
BitBall is designed for a diverse audience, primarily targeting consumers and users who seek to engage in decentralized finance (DeFi) and digital asset transactions. It enables them to utilize its token for various purposes, including payments and utility functions within the ecosystem. The platform provides essential tools and resources, such as wallets and APIs, to facilitate seamless interactions and transactions. Secondary participants include developers and liquidity providers, who can engage with BitBall through staking and governance mechanisms. This involvement allows them to contribute to the platform's growth and stability while also benefiting from the ecosystem's financial opportunities. By catering to both primary users and secondary participants, BitBall aims to create a robust and inclusive environment that supports a wide range of activities within the cryptocurrency space.
How is BitBall secured?
BitBall employs a Proof of Stake (PoS) consensus mechanism, where validators confirm transactions and uphold the integrity of the network. In this model, participants can become validators by staking a certain amount of BitBall tokens, which grants them the authority to validate transactions and create new blocks. This staking requirement not only secures the network but also incentivizes participants to act honestly, as their staked tokens can be slashed or penalized for malicious behavior. The protocol utilizes advanced cryptographic techniques, including Elliptic Curve Digital Signature Algorithm (ECDSA), to ensure secure authentication and data integrity. This cryptography safeguards transactions against tampering and unauthorized access. Incentive alignment is achieved through staking rewards, which are distributed to validators for their contributions to the network. This reward system encourages active participation and helps maintain a robust and secure ecosystem. Additionally, regular audits and governance processes are in place to enhance security and resilience, ensuring that the network can adapt to potential vulnerabilities and maintain operational integrity.
Has BitBall faced any controversy or risks?
BitBall has faced some controversies and risks primarily related to its community governance and market performance. In early 2021, there were reports of community disputes regarding the direction of the project and its tokenomics, leading to concerns about transparency and decision-making processes. The team responded by enhancing communication with the community through regular updates and implementing more structured governance proposals to involve stakeholders in key decisions. Additionally, BitBall has been exposed to market volatility, which is a common risk in the cryptocurrency space. The project has taken steps to mitigate these risks by promoting liquidity and encouraging user engagement through various incentives. Ongoing risks include regulatory scrutiny and market fluctuations, which are addressed through continuous development practices, community engagement, and transparency in operations. The team remains committed to maintaining a secure and robust platform for its users.

What is Market depth?
Market depth is a metric, which is showing the real liquidity of the markets. Due to rampant wash-trading and fake activity - volume currently isn't the most reliable indicator in the crypto space.
What is it measuring?
It's measuring 1% or 10% section of the order book from the midpoint price (1%/10% of the buy orders, and 1%/10% of the sell orders).

Why it is important to use only 1% or 10%?
It's important, because measurement of the whole order book is going to give false results due to extreme values, which can make false illusion of liquidity for a given market.
How to use it?
By default Market depth is showing the most liquid markets sorted by Combined Orders (which is a sum of buy and sell orders). This way it provides the most interesting information already. Left (green) side of the market depth bar is showing how many buy orders are open, and right (red) side of the bar is showing how many sell orders are open (both can be recalculated to BTC, ETH or any fiat we have available on the site).

Confidence
Due to rampant malicious practices in the crypto exchanges environment, we have introduced in 2019 and 2020 new ways of evaluating exchanges and one of them is - Confidence. Because it's a new metric - it's essential to know how it works.
Confidence is weighted based on 3 principles:
Based on the liquidity from order books (75%) - including overall liquidity and market depth/volume ratio, volumes included, if exchange is low volume (below 2M USD volume 24h)
Based on web traffic (20%) - using Alexa rank as a main indicator of site popularity
Based on regulation (5%) - researching and evaluating licensing for exchange - by respective institutions
Adding all of these subscores give overall main result - Confidence
Confidence is mainly based on liquidity, because it's the most important aspect of cryptocurrency exchanges. Without liquidity there is no trading, illiquid markets tend to collapse in the long term. Besides liquidity - there is also an additional factor in calculation of score - market depth/volume ratio. If volume is huge (especially when it’s growing much faster than liquidity), and market depth seems to not keep pace with - it's reducing overall score. Exchanges that keep market makers liquidity with expanding volume are those that keep all ratios in-tact and have overall score above 75-80% (it means that they have all liquidity ratios above minimum requirements, high web traffic participation, and are often regulated).
