Zelle Enables Stablecoin International Transfers
Zelle integrates stablecoins for global remittances, targeting 100M users.

Zelle will enable international transfers using stablecoins for its 100 million U.S. customers across 1,800 banks. Early Warning Services announced the plan on October 24, 2025. The network processed $1 trillion domestically last year. Stablecoins will settle cross-border payments faster and cheaper than wires.
Bank Network Expansion
Any Zelle-connected bank can offer global remittances. Regulated stablecoins ensure KYC compliance. Major banks like Bank of America and JPMorgan support the service. Global cross-border flows total $150 trillion annually, with stablecoins at 1% market share in 2025.
Banking-Crypto Bridge Forms
The move merges traditional banking with blockchain rails. It acts as a private Central Bank Digital Currency (CBDC) proxy, improving dollar efficiency without federal issuance. Ethereum's smart contracts suit payment needs, though Bitcoin gains from broader liquidity. Pilots start in 2026.
Cryptocurrencies are highly volatile and involve significant risk. You may lose part or all of your investment.
