Tokenized Stock Volume Jumped 288% in July, But One Token Did It

Key facts

  • Tokenized stock trading volume rose 288% in July 2026 to a record $11.3 billion.
  • A single Binance token tracking the Invesco QQQ fund drove about 82% of that volume.
  • Excluding that token, trading fell roughly 30% from June to $2.03 billion.

Tokenized stock volume hit a record $11.3 billion in July

Tokenized stock trading volume climbed 288% in July 2026 to a record $11.3 billion, according to a CoinDesk Data report. The figure covers tokens that track listed shares and trade on crypto platforms. The monthly comparison measures July activity against the June total. On the surface, the numbers pointed to fast growth in a young market that lets crypto users hold blockchain versions of company stock. Tokenized equities remain a small corner of digital-asset trading. A jump of that size would normally signal a wave of new demand. The detail behind the headline points to a narrower source of volume. The report is CoinDesk Data's monthly Stablecoins and Tokenized Assets review, published on 1 August 2026.

One Binance QQQ token produced most of the volume

Almost all of the gain came from a single product. A Binance token called QQQB, which tracks the Invesco QQQ exchange-traded fund (ETF), generated $9.27 billion on its own. That one token made up about 82% of all tokenized-equity volume during the month. Binance-hosted tokens, marketed as bStocks, reached $9.41 billion together, or 83.3% of the total. One exchange and one token drove the record. The rest of the sector barely moved the overall figure. That concentration matters for readers who see the 288% headline as broad adoption.

Trading shrank across the rest of the market

Remove QQQB, and the trend reverses. Volume across the remaining market fell to $2.03 billion, about 30% below June's estimated $2.91 billion. Trading on the xStocks platform dropped sharply to $335 million from $1.55 billion a month earlier. Ondo recorded $792 million, while Backpack handled $479 million over the same period. Both figures come from the same monthly report. Those declines suggest that demand outside the single Binance token cooled during July. The record total and the shrinking base point in opposite directions.

Fee waivers and a volume multiplier drove QQQB activity

Binance offered heavy incentives on QQQB during July. The token carried zero maker fees through 31 August, which removed a normal cost of active trading. Binance also launched a VIP volume multiplier program on 23 July. That program credited qualifying users with three times their traded volume toward status tiers. Both terms rewarded rapid, large-scale trading in the single token. The incentives concentrated activity in QQQB rather than the broader tokenized-stock market. Programs like these raise reported trading figures for the token they target.

The underlying stocks fell during the same month

The underlying stocks fell while the tokens traded more. The Invesco QQQ ETF dropped 6.6% in July, and QQQB traded 10.2% below its 30 June close. The Nasdaq Composite declined 3.2% over the month, while the S&P 500 slipped 0.1%. Chip stocks led the retreat, with the iShares Semiconductor ETF down 22.1% and Micron off 28.7%. The trading gains therefore came without a matching rise in the underlying share prices. The record trading volume built up during a month of falling equity prices, not a rally.

Ondo's token trades far below its 2024 peak

Tokenization tokens also traded well below past highs in early August. Ondo, one of the platforms named in the report, saw its ONDO token trade at $0.39 on 2 August 2026, up 1.6% over the past 24 hours (CoinPaprika, 2 August 2026). The token held a market value near $1.92 billion, about 82% under its December 2024 record. ONDO ranked among the top 50 tokens by market value at that time. The distance from that peak shows how far sector prices remain from earlier highs.
