Tokenised Stock Holders Double to 1.31 Million as Monthly Volume Nears $23 Billion

Key facts

  • Tokenised stock holders more than doubled to 1.31 million in the past month, per RWA.xyz data.
  • Monthly transfer volume rose about 179% to $23.13 billion; distributed value reached $2.38 billion.
  • Ondo leads with $872 million, ahead of Kraken's xStocks and Binance's bStocks.

Tokenised stock holders more than doubled in a month

The number of tokenised stock holders more than doubled over the past month to 1.31 million, according to RWA.xyz data. Tokenised stocks are blockchain-based representations of company shares that can trade outside standard exchange hours. Monthly active addresses rose 34.62% to nearly 572,000 over the same period. Holders roughly doubled in a month, while the active-address total rose by about a third.

Monthly transfer volume surged to $23.13 billion

Monthly transfer volume surged about 179% over the same month to $23.13 billion, according to RWA.xyz data. The total distributed value of tokenised stocks grew 5.9% to $2.38 billion. Distributed value measures the combined worth of tokenised shares held across all wallets. Transfer activity therefore rose far faster than the value held in the assets, which shows existing tokens changed hands more frequently. Holders and active addresses climbed at triple-digit and double-digit rates, while the pool of value expanded only modestly.

Ondo leads the market with $872 million in value

Ondo leads the sector with about $872 million in distributed value, according to RWA.xyz. Kraken's xStocks follows at $557.8 million, ahead of Binance's bStocks at $521.8 million. BStocks launched in June and now sits within roughly $36 million of xStocks. It has closed most of that gap since launch. Together, the top three platforms account for most of the sector's $2.38 billion in value. The largest single tokenised assets include Securitize at $145.2 million, a Strategy tokenised share product at $135.6 million, and Ondo's tokenised Circle shares at $99.7 million.

SpaceX pre-IPO campaigns fell short of demand

The recent growth followed a wave of crypto platforms moving into private-market and pre-IPO (initial public offering) products earlier this year. Much of that activity centred on SpaceX ahead of its 12 June public-market debut. Binance, Coinbase, Kraken, Bybit, Bitget and Blockchain.com rolled out SpaceX-linked products, from tokenised pre-IPO exposure to perpetual futures and proxy tokens. A Binance campaign drew $557 million in demand ahead of the listing. According to Cointelegraph, Binance, Bybit and Bitget Wallet cancelled their tokenised SpaceX campaigns after xStocks failed to secure enough underlying shares. The cancellations triggered refunds for subscribers. The episode showed the gap between demand for pre-IPO tokens and the shares available to back them. Tokenised SpaceX exposure through Binance's bStocks has since grown to $67.9 million. That places it seventh among individual tokenised assets tracked by RWA.xyz.

Ondo token traded near $0.33 at publication

Ondo's governance token, ONDO, traded at $0.33 at the time of publication, up 3.3% over the past 24 hours (CoinPaprika, 17 August 2026). The token held a market capitalisation near $1.63 billion at that time (CoinPaprika, 17 August 2026). Ondo is the largest issuer in the tokenised-stock market by distributed value. The token is separate from the tokenised shares that Ondo issues, and it tracks demand for the protocol itself.

Standard Chartered forecasts a $4 trillion market

The growth in tokenised equities comes amid a broader expansion in real-world asset (RWA) tokenisation. RWA tokenisation covers assets such as bonds, funds, and equities issued on public blockchains. Standard Chartered forecasts the sector could reach $4 trillion by the end of 2028.
