Stellar's Tokenized RWA Market Quadruples to Nearly $4 Billion

Key facts

  • Stellar's tokenized real-world assets reached $3.996 billion on 29 August 2026, up about 360% this year.
  • Spiko leads issuers with $1.55 billion, ahead of Realiz, Tradable, Franklin Templeton and Ondo.
  • Stellar holds about $490 million in tokenized non-US government debt, more than any public blockchain.

Stellar's tokenized asset value quadrupled in 2026

The value of tokenized real-world assets (RWAs) on the Stellar network reached $3.996 billion on 29 August 2026. That total is up roughly 360% from $868.8 million at the end of 2025, based on a public dashboard maintained by Stellar. The figure has more than quadrupled in eight months. RWAs are traditional financial instruments, such as government bonds or private credit, issued and traded as blockchain tokens. Stellar's total spans US Treasurys, private and public credit, non-US government debt and other asset classes.

Five issuers hold most of the network's value

Five issuers account for most of Stellar's RWA total. Spiko held $1.55 billion as of 27 August 2026, the largest single share on the network. Realiz followed with $559 million, then Tradable at $548 million, Franklin Templeton at $546 million and Ondo at $535 million. Together these five make up the bulk of tokenized value on the network. The breakdown shows that a small group of asset managers and tokenization platforms drives most of the activity.

Stellar leads public chains in foreign government debt

Stellar holds about $490 million in tokenized non-US government debt as of 20 August 2026, more than any other public blockchain, according to data platform RWA.xyz. That pool includes tokenized Mexican CETES, which are short-term government bills, and Brazilian government bonds issued through Etherfuse, a firm that tokenizes sovereign securities. Stellar first overtook Ethereum in this category in early February 2026. It has held the top position on the leaderboard every day since.

MoneyGram issued its MGUSD stablecoin on Stellar in June

Stablecoins also run on the network. MoneyGram launched MGUSD, a US dollar-pegged stablecoin, on Stellar on 2 June 2026 to power its global payments network. The token lets customers hold a dollar balance in a self-custodial wallet and move funds across MoneyGram's retail network of about 500,000 locations. Bridge, a Stripe company, serves as the regulated issuer. The launch built on a five-year partnership between MoneyGram and the Stellar Development Foundation focused on stablecoin remittances.

XLM trades near $0.18 despite the RWA growth

The network's native token, XLM, traded near $0.18 at the time of publication. The price was roughly flat over the past 24 hours and down about 4% over the prior week (CoinPaprika, 30 August 2026). XLM's market capitalization stood near $6.25 billion. The token's price has not tracked the sharp rise in tokenized asset value on the network this year. A gap remains between on-chain adoption and market performance.

A tokenization pipeline points to more growth ahead

Further deployments are planned. According to Cointelegraph, Tradable plans to add up to $1 billion in private credit assets on Stellar. The firm has already tokenized $1.7 billion across nearly 30 positions. A Depository Trust & Clearing Corporation (DTCC) integration is expected in the first half of 2027. Both remain planned steps, and neither is yet reflected in the current $3.996 billion total.
