Robinhood Chain Broke Records While Its DEX Volume Fell 72% From Its Peak
Robinhood Chain's decentralized exchange volume fell 72.5% from its 11 July peak of $878 million to $241 million on 1 August. Transactions, total value locked and stablecoin supply all hit record highs over the same period.

DEX volume fell 72% from its July peak
Robinhood Chain's decentralized exchange (DEX) volume fell 72.5% between its 11 July peak and 1 August, according to The Defiant's reading of DefiLlama data. Volume peaked near $878 million on 11 July, 10 days after the chain went live, then dropped to $241 million on 1 August. The seven-day average slid from $671 million in the week ending 14 July to $356 million in the week ending 5 August, a 47% decline.
The decline was specific to Robinhood Chain
The fall did not track the wider market. DEX volume across all chains rose from $5.27 billion on 11 July to $7.33 billion on 5 August. Robinhood Chain's share of global DEX volume dropped from 16.65% at its peak to 4.32% on 2 August, per The Defiant's calculation from DefiLlama data. Volume later recovered to $517 million on 5 August and $665 million by 16:30 UTC on 6 August, an incomplete trading day.
Records climbed as average trade size shrank
Other metrics moved the opposite way. The chain recorded 13.3 million transactions on 5 August, its highest ever and up from 10.4 million on the peak volume day, according to Blockscout. Total value locked hit a record $433 million on 6 August, up from $47 million on 8 July. Stablecoin supply reached a record $597 million. Volume per transaction told the clearest story. It fell from $105.56 on 13 July to $27.82 on 4 August, a 74% drop, before recovering to $39.07 on 5 August.
Most incentive spending rewards depositors
The chain's rewards favor holding over trading. According to The Defiant, 19 live incentive campaigns paid a combined $58,351 a day as of 6 August. Two of them accounted for 92% of that total. Both reward depositors. The largest, at $29,514 a day, pays users for depositing USDe as collateral in a Morpho lending market against USDG. That split explains how deposits set records while trading fell, since most value locked sits in lending vaults rather than exchange liquidity.
Martin Gaspar, senior crypto market strategist at FalconX, flagged the risk on 20 July, writing that volumes could fade if memecoin trading cooled.

CASHCAT tracked the chain's price swings
Memecoins drove much of the activity. Entropy Advisors data cited by FalconX put memecoins at about 75% of the chain's spot DEX volume, down from 90% at launch. CASHCAT, the memecoin named after Robinhood's original mascot, moved with the chain's volume through both the fall and the bounce. The Defiant measured a 0.63 correlation across the 29 days from 8 July to 5 August. CASHCAT traded at $0.15 on 10 August, up about 34% over 24 hours. It sat 32.8% below its 11 July record of $0.22, with a $153 million market capitalization (CoinPaprika, 10 August 2026).
Uniswap's new launchpad lifted v4 volume
Uniswap runs about 91% of the chain's DEX volume. Its v4 version passed v3 for the first time on 6 August. The move matched pools.trade, a launchpad Uniswap Labs opened on the chain on 5 August that routes new tokens straight into v4 pools. Tom Wan, head of data at Entropy Advisors, said Uniswap v4 daily volume on the chain sat near $100 million before the launchpad. It reached $237 million on its first day. Robinhood Chain launched its mainnet on 1 July, built on the Arbitrum stack.
