Options That Never Close: Bybit Launches 24/7 SpaceX and Nvidia Contracts

Key facts

  • Bybit opens 24/7 options on SpaceX and Nvidia stock perpetuals on 17 September 2026.
  • The USDT-settled contracts remove Wall Street market hours and the 100-share minimum.
  • Tesla, the Invesco QQQ ETF, SOXL and Micron are the next planned listings.

Bybit launches perp options on SpaceX and Nvidia

Bybit, a global cryptocurrency exchange, will launch options on stock perpetual contracts, known as perps, on 17 September 2026 at 8 p.m. UTC. The first two contracts cover SpaceX (SPCX) and Nvidia (NVDA). Bybit calls the product Perp Options. Each contract trades around the clock and uses fractional lots, which lets traders open smaller positions. All positions settle in Tether (USDT). The contracts sit inside Bybit's Unified Trading Account, and the exchange said portfolio margin is available to every user from launch.

Contracts settle against Bybit's own perpetuals

Each option settles against Bybit's SPCXUSDT and NVDAUSDT perpetual contracts rather than the underlying shares. The product is therefore a derivative built on another derivative. The exchange designed it to offer U.S. equity options without the market-hour restrictions of traditional venues, and without the standard 100-share contract minimum. Because settlement runs in USDT, traders keep collateral in one stablecoin instead of moving between fiat currencies. The options reference the same SPCXUSDT and NVDAUSDT perpetual markets that Bybit already operates. Supported strategies include buying and selling options, spreads, straddles, and covered calls.

Round-the-clock trading removes Wall Street hours

Traditional U.S. equity options trade only during exchange hours and require positions in blocks of 100 shares. Bybit's Perp Options remove both limits. The contracts stay open at all hours, so positions can change outside the U.S. cash-market session. The exchange frames the design as continuous access to single-name equity exposure. Every contract references a perpetual that already trades 24 hours a day, which lets the options follow the same schedule.

Bybit plans to add Tesla, QQQ and more names

Bybit plans to add new expiry dates on a regular schedule. The exchange expects to list options on Tesla (TSLA), the Invesco QQQ exchange-traded fund (ETF), SOXL, and Micron (MU) next. Bybit has not confirmed exact dates for these additions, so the expansion timeline remains a plan rather than a commitment.

Tokenized equity perp volume climbed through 2026

According to The Block, tokenized-equity perpetual volume rose from about $85 billion in January to roughly $470 billion in June 2026. SpaceX was the most-traded single name that month, with more than $66 billion in volume. The Block also reported that equity-focused markets grew from around 2% of Hyperliquid's perpetual volume at the start of the year to about 50% by the middle of 2026. According to The Block, Nvidia, Tesla, and Nasdaq-100 contracts were among the products driving that growth. The figures show equity contracts taking a larger share of crypto derivatives volume.

USDT settlement anchors the new options market

Every contract settles in Tether (USDT), a stablecoin pegged to the U.S. dollar. USDT traded at about $1.00 with a market capitalization near $183.4 billion at the time of publication (CoinPaprika, 29 August 2026). Settling in a dollar-pegged token lets traders price and margin the equity options in one unit across Bybit's account system. Portfolio margin inside the Unified Trading Account lets traders manage the options alongside other positions in one account.
