HashKey Adds JPMorgan to Its Bank Roster With Client Money Account
HashKey Exchange received approval from JPMorgan Chase to open a client money account, its parent company said on 3 August 2026. The account will segregate customer funds and route settlement through JPMorgan's banking infrastructure.

JPMorgan approves HashKey Exchange for a client account
HashKey Exchange, a Hong Kong-licensed cryptocurrency platform, received approval from JPMorgan Chase to open a client money account. Its parent company, HashKey Holdings, announced the approval in a press release on 3 August 2026. HashKey described the exchange as the first licensed digital asset platform in Asia approved for this type of JPMorgan account. The exchange is the largest licensed digital asset platform in Hong Kong.
The account separates customer funds from company capital
A client money account holds customer deposits in a segregated bank account, apart from the exchange's own operating capital. HashKey Holdings said the account will support client fund segregation and settlement through JPMorgan's banking infrastructure. Hong Kong's Securities and Futures Commission (SFC) sets the rule behind this structure. Licensed virtual asset platforms must keep foreign-currency client funds in segregated accounts denominated in the same currency. Hash Blockchain Limited, the operating entity behind HashKey Exchange, has held an SFC licence since November 2022. HashKey said the account does not expand its existing crypto licence or grant access to restricted US customers. It serves only as an additional regulated fiat banking route. The announcement confirms account approval rather than the immediate start of live customer deposits and withdrawals.
HashKey activated a DBS Bank account in June
The JPMorgan approval follows an earlier banking step. HashKey Exchange activated a customer funds account with Singapore's DBS Bank on 30 June 2026. That account enabled fiat deposits, withdrawals and settlement services for clients. The two relationships connect the exchange to major Asian and global US dollar banking networks. Ties with both DBS and JPMorgan strengthen the platform's US dollar funding and settlement routes for institutional clients.
DBS and JPMorgan rank among the largest banks
Both banks sit near the top of global rankings. In S&P Global Market Intelligence's April 2026 rankings, DBS Group Holdings was Singapore's largest bank, with $697.77 billion in assets. JPMorgan ranked as the world's fifth-largest bank, with about $4.4 trillion in assets. The scale of both institutions gives HashKey settlement links across two of the world's main banking centres. HashKey controls more than 75% of Hong Kong's licensed digital asset market, according to Frost & Sullivan data from 2025.
HashKey's platform token held steady after the news
The HashKey Platform Token (HSK) traded at $0.086 at the time of publication (CoinPaprika, 3 August 2026). The price rose 0.16% over the past 24 hours, versus the previous close. The token showed little movement in response to the banking announcement. HSK remains far below its December 2024 record high.
HashKey listed in Hong Kong in December
HashKey Holdings listed in Hong Kong in December 2025. The company raised $206 million in an oversubscribed initial public offering (IPO). JPMorgan's involvement with the company extends beyond the new account. The bank raised its rating on HashKey's Hong Kong-listed shares to Overweight earlier in 2026 and served as a joint sponsor of the December IPO. HashKey previously joined a Hong Kong Monetary Authority working group on tokenised bonds alongside JPMorgan. One week before the account approval, HashKey combined its previously separate HashKey Exchange and HashKey Global applications into a single portal.
