Bitcoin and Ether ETFs Draw $1.1 Billion in Best Week Since April
US spot bitcoin and ether exchange-traded funds drew a combined $1.1 billion in net inflows in the week ending 8 August 2026. It was the strongest week for either category since April, even as trading volumes fell.

Crypto ETFs drew $1.1 billion in one week
US spot bitcoin and ether exchange-traded funds (ETFs) drew a combined $1.1 billion in net inflows in the week ending 8 August 2026. Bitcoin ETFs took in $853.5 million, their largest weekly total since the week of 17 April, when they gathered $996.4 million. Ether ETFs added $244.9 million over the same five sessions. Both totals marked the strongest week for either category since April, according to SoSoValue data. The result reversed months of thin demand for the products.
BlackRock and Fidelity led the bitcoin inflows
BlackRock's IBIT fund accounted for $693.7 million, more than 80% of bitcoin ETF inflows. Fidelity's FBTC fund added $116.4 million, about 13% of the total. Bitcoin funds recorded net inflows in all five trading sessions, led by $244.4 million on Wednesday and $211.5 million on Tuesday. Thursday and Friday brought $128.7 million and $98.9 million. Ether funds logged their fifth straight positive week, their longest run of 2026, with a $92.2 million inflow on Thursday.
Volumes stayed low despite the demand
Trading volume did not follow the money. Bitcoin ETF volume totaled $8.19 billion on the week, down 9% from the prior week and the second-lowest full trading week since October 2024. Ether ETF volume fell 21% to $2.38 billion. Bitcoin traded at $65,059 on 9 August 2026, up 3.2% over the past seven days (CoinPaprika, 9 August 2026). Ether ETF net assets stood at $10.74 billion.
Inflows still trail 2026 outflows
The strong week did not erase this year's losses. Bitcoin ETFs remain down $4.44 billion in net outflows for 2026. Ether ETFs sit at $873 million in net outflows year-to-date. Ether ETFs have now drawn $11.46 billion in cumulative net inflows since their 2024 launch. Both categories have now posted their best combined week in nearly four months.
