Binance Adds Options on 1,000 US Stocks as TradFi Volume Tops $433 Billion
Binance added physically settled options on more than 1,000 US stocks and exchange-traded funds for eligible users outside the United States. The launch followed August TradFi perpetual futures volume of about $433 billion, roughly 15 times January's total.

Binance adds options on 1,000 US stocks and ETFs
Binance launched options trading on more than 1,000 US stocks and exchange-traded funds (ETFs) on 1 September 2026. The products are available to eligible users outside the United States. Binance does not offer them to US users. The launch pushes the exchange further beyond crypto and into traditional equity markets. It builds on an existing equities offering of more than 7,000 US stocks and ETFs. Binance now bundles spot crypto, equities, and equity options within a single account.
The contracts settle in physical shares
The new options are physically settled. When a user exercises a contract, they receive or deliver the underlying US-listed shares. In phase one, eligible retail users can buy call and put options only. A call is the right to buy a stock, and a put is the right to sell it. Their maximum loss is limited to the premium paid. Binance has not opened option writing or short exposure in this first phase.
A regulated broker routes orders to Alpaca
Binance offers the options through Nest Trading Limited, its broker-dealer regulated by the Abu Dhabi Global Market (ADGM). Nest Trading acts as the introducing broker. It routes customer orders to Alpaca Securities, a US-registered broker-dealer. Alpaca handles execution, clearing, settlement, and custody. It also holds the underlying US-listed shares for Binance users. The arrangement keeps clearing and custody with a US-registered firm. Access depends on a user's location and eligibility.
TradFi perpetual volume climbed through 2026
Binance reported strong growth in its traditional finance (TradFi) products this year. TradFi perpetual futures volume reached about $433 billion in August 2026. That figure is roughly 15 times January's total of about $29.5 billion, according to Binance data reported by The Block. Equity-linked contracts drove much of the gain. According to The Block, those perpetual futures generated $342.9 billion in August, up from $410.9 million in January. The new stock options add another instrument to this expanding suite.
Shunyet Jan, Binance's Head of Exchange and Trading, described the launch as a step toward a fuller multi-asset platform.
"Stock options are an important next step in Binance's evolution into a fuller multi-asset platform. By adding options on selected U.S. stocks and ETFs, we are expanding the tools available to users who want to participate in equity markets, manage exposure, and access strategies that have historically been offered through traditional brokers — all from one Binance account.", 1 September 2026. — Shunyet Jan, Head of Exchange and Trading, Binance
