CoinPaprika ranks #1 for blockchain coverage in the OpenChainBench benchmark
An independent benchmark, OpenChainBench, audits crypto data APIs live and ranks CoinPaprika #1 for blockchain coverage with 306 mainnets. Here's what it measures and why coverage matters.

CoinPaprika supports more blockchains than any other major crypto data API, according to OpenChainBench, an independent benchmark that audits providers live. CoinPaprika ranks #1 of 6 with 306 production mainnets, ahead of GeckoTerminal at 261. If your project needs price and market data across the long tail of chains, not just the top ten, this is the number that matters.
We did not run this benchmark, and that is exactly why it is worth sharing. It is run by OpenChainBench, a community project that measures what crypto data APIs actually deliver, audited from each provider's own endpoints rather than from marketing claims.
What the benchmark measures
The network-coverage benchmark answers one practical question: how many blockchains does each major on-chain data API officially support?
The methodology is refreshingly strict:
- It pulls each provider's own "supported networks" endpoint live, every six hours.
- It counts production mainnets only. Testnets are excluded, because providers list them inconsistently.
- It deduplicates by chain ID, so nobody inflates the count with aliases.
- It compares real API capability, not website copy.
OpenChainBench is community-run and MIT-licensed, with a public, reproducible methodology. In other words, anyone can check the work.
The result
On the live ranking (2026), CoinPaprika comes out on top of all six providers measured:
CoinPaprika's product page on OpenChainBench shows the same result: #1 of 6, 306 networks supported.
Why network coverage actually matters
Most "best crypto API" comparisons fixate on the big chains. That is fine until your users hold a token on a chain your data provider does not track, and your app shows a blank.
Broad coverage matters when you are:
- Building a portfolio tracker that has to value whatever a user actually holds.
- Running token or contract lookups across many platforms, not a curated few.
- Covering the long tail of newer L2s and app-chains where a lot of early activity happens.
CoinPaprika reaches 306 chains for token and contract data. For deep on-chain DEX data (pools, swaps, liquidity), its sister product DexPaprika focuses on 35 chains where DEX activity concentrates. Different jobs, one stack.
Try it yourself
CoinPaprika's REST API is public and needs no API key to start:
# Bitcoin price and market data curl https://api.coinpaprika.com/v1/tickers/btc-bitcoin # Token data by contract address (redirects to the ticker, -L follows it) curl -L https://api.coinpaprika.com/v1/contracts/eth-ethereum/0xa0b86991c6218b36c1d19d4a2e9eb0ce3606eb48
That is the same data the benchmark audits, available to you for free.
Frequently asked questions
?Which crypto data API supports the most blockchains?
CoinPaprika, per the OpenChainBench network-coverage benchmark: 306 production mainnets, ranked #1 of 6, ahead of GeckoTerminal at 261.
?Is the benchmark independent?
Yes. OpenChainBench is a community-run, MIT-licensed project that audits each provider's own networks endpoint live every six hours. It counts production mainnets only and deduplicates by chain ID.
?Does more chains mean better data everywhere?
Coverage is one dimension. It tells you whether a provider tracks a given chain at all. For deep on-chain DEX data on the chains that matter most, see DexPaprika.
?Do I need an API key to use CoinPaprika?
No. The public REST API works with no key and no signup. Paid plans add higher limits and deeper history.
