What is Zyberswap?
Zyberswap (ZYB) is a decentralized exchange (DEX) launched in 2022, designed to facilitate seamless trading of cryptocurrencies. It operates primarily on the Ethereum blockchain, leveraging smart contract technology to enable users to swap tokens directly without the need for intermediaries. The platform aims to provide a user-friendly interface and efficient trading experience, catering to both novice and experienced traders. The native token, ZYB, serves multiple purposes within the Zyberswap ecosystem, including transaction fees, governance participation, and potential staking rewards. This utility enhances user engagement and incentivizes participation in the platform's governance processes. Zyberswap stands out for its focus on optimizing liquidity and trading efficiency, incorporating advanced features such as automated market-making and yield farming. This positions it as a significant player in the decentralized finance (DeFi) space, appealing to users seeking innovative trading solutions and opportunities for passive income through liquidity provision.
When and how did Zyberswap start?
Zyberswap originated in March 2021 when the founding team released its whitepaper, outlining the project's vision and technical framework. The project launched its testnet in June 2021, allowing users to experiment with its features and functionalities in a controlled environment. Following successful testing, Zyberswap transitioned to its mainnet launch in September 2021, marking its official entry into the decentralized finance (DeFi) space. Early development focused on creating a user-friendly decentralized exchange (DEX) that facilitates seamless token swaps and liquidity provision. The initial distribution of Zyberswap tokens occurred through a fair launch model in October 2021, which aimed to ensure equitable access for early adopters and community members. These foundational steps established Zyberswap's ecosystem and set the stage for its growth within the competitive DeFi landscape.
What’s coming up for Zyberswap?
According to official updates, Zyberswap is preparing for a significant protocol upgrade aimed at enhancing user experience and transaction efficiency, scheduled for Q1 2024. This upgrade will introduce new features designed to streamline trading processes and improve liquidity management. Additionally, Zyberswap is working on integrating with several prominent DeFi platforms, with these partnerships expected to be finalized by mid-2024. The team is also planning a governance vote to implement community-driven proposals, which will take place in Q2 2024. These initiatives are focused on expanding the ecosystem and enhancing the overall functionality of the platform. Progress on these milestones will be tracked through their official communication channels, ensuring transparency and community engagement throughout the development process.

These indicators support its continued relevance within the decentralized finance sector, showcasing its commitment to innovation and community engagement.
Who is Zyberswap designed for?
Zyberswap is designed for both primary users, such as consumers and developers, enabling them to engage in decentralized finance (DeFi) activities and create innovative applications. It provides essential tools and resources, including user-friendly wallets and APIs, to facilitate seamless interactions within the ecosystem. Secondary participants, including liquidity providers and validators, can engage through staking and governance mechanisms, contributing to the platform's stability and growth. By catering to these diverse user groups, Zyberswap aims to foster a collaborative environment that supports various DeFi initiatives, allowing users to maximize their investment potential and developers to build robust applications. This inclusive approach ensures that Zyberswap remains a relevant player in the evolving DeFi landscape.
How is Zyberswap secured?
Zyberswap utilizes a Proof of Stake (PoS) consensus mechanism, where validators are responsible for confirming transactions and maintaining the integrity of the network. In this model, validators are selected to propose and validate new blocks based on the amount of cryptocurrency they hold and are willing to "stake" as collateral. This incentivizes participants to act honestly, as their staked assets can be slashed or forfeited in case of malicious behavior. The protocol employs advanced cryptographic techniques, including Elliptic Curve Digital Signature Algorithm (ECDSA), to ensure secure authentication and data integrity. This cryptography protects user transactions and maintains the confidentiality of sensitive information. Incentive alignment is achieved through staking rewards, which are distributed to validators for their participation in the network, encouraging them to maintain a secure and efficient system. Additionally, governance mechanisms allow stakeholders to participate in decision-making processes, enhancing the network's resilience. Regular audits and a commitment to security best practices further bolster Zyberswap's defenses against potential vulnerabilities.
Has Zyberswap faced any controversy or risks?
Zyberswap has faced risks primarily related to security vulnerabilities and market fluctuations. In early 2023, the platform experienced a security incident involving a smart contract exploit that resulted in the loss of user funds. The team responded promptly by pausing trading and initiating a thorough audit of their smart contracts. They implemented a patch to address the vulnerabilities and communicated transparently with the community regarding the incident. Additionally, Zyberswap has been subject to regulatory scrutiny, as is common in the decentralized finance (DeFi) space. The team has taken proactive measures to ensure compliance with evolving regulations, including engaging with legal advisors and enhancing their governance framework. Ongoing risks for Zyberswap include potential technical vulnerabilities, market volatility, and regulatory changes. To mitigate these risks, the project emphasizes regular security audits, community engagement, and transparent communication regarding updates and changes to the platform.

What is Market depth?
Market depth is a metric, which is showing the real liquidity of the markets. Due to rampant wash-trading and fake activity - volume currently isn't the most reliable indicator in the crypto space.
What is it measuring?
It's measuring 1% or 10% section of the order book from the midpoint price (1%/10% of the buy orders, and 1%/10% of the sell orders).

Why it is important to use only 1% or 10%?
It's important, because measurement of the whole order book is going to give false results due to extreme values, which can make false illusion of liquidity for a given market.
How to use it?
By default Market depth is showing the most liquid markets sorted by Combined Orders (which is a sum of buy and sell orders). This way it provides the most interesting information already. Left (green) side of the market depth bar is showing how many buy orders are open, and right (red) side of the bar is showing how many sell orders are open (both can be recalculated to BTC, ETH or any fiat we have available on the site).

Confidence
Due to rampant malicious practices in the crypto exchanges environment, we have introduced in 2019 and 2020 new ways of evaluating exchanges and one of them is - Confidence. Because it's a new metric - it's essential to know how it works.
Confidence is weighted based on 3 principles:
Based on the liquidity from order books (75%) - including overall liquidity and market depth/volume ratio, volumes included, if exchange is low volume (below 2M USD volume 24h)
Based on web traffic (20%) - using Alexa rank as a main indicator of site popularity
Based on regulation (5%) - researching and evaluating licensing for exchange - by respective institutions
Adding all of these subscores give overall main result - Confidence
Confidence is mainly based on liquidity, because it's the most important aspect of cryptocurrency exchanges. Without liquidity there is no trading, illiquid markets tend to collapse in the long term. Besides liquidity - there is also an additional factor in calculation of score - market depth/volume ratio. If volume is huge (especially when it’s growing much faster than liquidity), and market depth seems to not keep pace with - it's reducing overall score. Exchanges that keep market makers liquidity with expanding volume are those that keep all ratios in-tact and have overall score above 75-80% (it means that they have all liquidity ratios above minimum requirements, high web traffic participation, and are often regulated).

Historical Market Depth is showing the history of liquidity from the markets for a given asset. It’s a measure of combined liquidity from all integrated markets on the coinpaprika’s market depth module.
