What is Xandeum?
Xandeum (XAND) is a blockchain project launched in 2023, designed to facilitate decentralized finance (DeFi) solutions and enhance digital asset management. The project aims to address inefficiencies in traditional financial systems by providing a secure and transparent platform for users to engage in various financial activities. Xandeum operates on a native Layer 1 blockchain, utilizing a proof-of-stake consensus mechanism that enables fast transaction processing and low fees. Its native token, XAND, serves multiple purposes within the ecosystem, including transaction fees, staking rewards, and governance participation, allowing holders to influence the project's development and decision-making processes. What sets Xandeum apart is its focus on user-friendly interfaces and robust security features, making it accessible to both novice and experienced users. Additionally, the project emphasizes interoperability with other blockchain networks, enhancing its utility and integration potential within the broader cryptocurrency landscape.
When and how did Xandeum start?
Xandeum originated in March 2022 when the founding team released its whitepaper, outlining the project's vision and technical framework. The project launched its testnet in June 2022, allowing developers and early adopters to experiment with its features and functionalities. This was followed by the mainnet launch in September 2022, marking the token's official entry into the market. Early development focused on creating a robust ecosystem that supports decentralized applications and enhances user engagement. The initial distribution of Xandeum tokens occurred through a fair launch model in October 2022, ensuring a wide distribution among community members and investors. These foundational steps established Xandeum's growth trajectory and set the stage for its ongoing development and community involvement.
What’s coming up for Xandeum?
According to official updates, Xandeum is preparing for a significant protocol upgrade scheduled for Q1 2024, aimed at enhancing scalability and performance. This upgrade will introduce new features designed to optimize transaction speeds and reduce fees, thereby improving user experience. Additionally, Xandeum is working on a strategic partnership with a major blockchain platform, expected to be finalized by mid-2024, which will facilitate cross-chain integrations and expand its ecosystem. Governance decisions are also on the horizon, with a community vote planned for Q2 2024 to determine future development priorities. These milestones are intended to strengthen Xandeum's position in the market and enhance its overall functionality, with progress being tracked through their official channels.

Who is Xandeum designed for?
Xandeum is designed for developers and consumers, enabling them to build and utilize decentralized applications effectively. It provides essential tools and resources, including SDKs and APIs, to facilitate development and integration with its blockchain ecosystem. The platform aims to empower developers by offering a robust infrastructure that supports the creation of innovative solutions, while consumers benefit from seamless access to decentralized services and applications. Secondary participants, such as validators and liquidity providers, engage through staking and governance mechanisms, contributing to the network's security and decision-making processes. This collaborative environment fosters a vibrant ecosystem where all participants can thrive, driving the adoption and evolution of Xandeum's offerings. By catering to both primary and secondary user groups, Xandeum aims to create a comprehensive platform that meets the diverse needs of its community.
How is Xandeum secured?
Xandeum employs a Proof of Stake (PoS) consensus mechanism, where validators are responsible for confirming transactions and maintaining the integrity of the network. This model requires validators to lock up a certain amount of Xandeum tokens as collateral, which aligns their financial incentives with the network's security. The protocol utilizes advanced cryptographic techniques, such as Ed25519, for authentication and ensuring data integrity, which enhances the overall security of transactions. To further incentivize honest behavior, Xandeum incorporates a staking rewards system, where validators earn rewards for their participation in the network. Conversely, the protocol implements slashing penalties for malicious actions or failure to validate transactions correctly, thereby discouraging any attempts at fraud or negligence. Additional security measures include regular audits and a robust governance framework that allows token holders to participate in decision-making processes. This governance structure, combined with multi-client diversity, enhances the resilience of the network against potential vulnerabilities, ensuring a secure and reliable environment for all participants.
Has Xandeum faced any controversy or risks?
Xandeum has faced some controversy related to security risks, particularly concerning its smart contract functionality. In early 2023, vulnerabilities were identified in the code that could potentially expose user funds to exploitation. The development team promptly addressed these issues by implementing a series of patches and updates to enhance the security of the platform. Additionally, they conducted a thorough audit of the smart contracts to ensure that similar vulnerabilities would not arise in the future. The team also initiated a bug bounty program to encourage community members to report any potential security flaws, thereby fostering a proactive approach to risk management. Despite these efforts, ongoing risks in the blockchain space include market volatility, regulatory scrutiny, and the inherent technical challenges associated with decentralized systems. Xandeum continues to mitigate these risks through regular audits, transparent communication with its community, and adherence to best development practices.

What is Market depth?
Market depth is a metric, which is showing the real liquidity of the markets. Due to rampant wash-trading and fake activity - volume currently isn't the most reliable indicator in the crypto space.
What is it measuring?
It's measuring 1% or 10% section of the order book from the midpoint price (1%/10% of the buy orders, and 1%/10% of the sell orders).

Why it is important to use only 1% or 10%?
It's important, because measurement of the whole order book is going to give false results due to extreme values, which can make false illusion of liquidity for a given market.
How to use it?
By default Market depth is showing the most liquid markets sorted by Combined Orders (which is a sum of buy and sell orders). This way it provides the most interesting information already. Left (green) side of the market depth bar is showing how many buy orders are open, and right (red) side of the bar is showing how many sell orders are open (both can be recalculated to BTC, ETH or any fiat we have available on the site).

Confidence
Due to rampant malicious practices in the crypto exchanges environment, we have introduced in 2019 and 2020 new ways of evaluating exchanges and one of them is - Confidence. Because it's a new metric - it's essential to know how it works.
Confidence is weighted based on 3 principles:
Based on the liquidity from order books (75%) - including overall liquidity and market depth/volume ratio, volumes included, if exchange is low volume (below 2M USD volume 24h)
Based on web traffic (20%) - using Alexa rank as a main indicator of site popularity
Based on regulation (5%) - researching and evaluating licensing for exchange - by respective institutions
Adding all of these subscores give overall main result - Confidence
Confidence is mainly based on liquidity, because it's the most important aspect of cryptocurrency exchanges. Without liquidity there is no trading, illiquid markets tend to collapse in the long term. Besides liquidity - there is also an additional factor in calculation of score - market depth/volume ratio. If volume is huge (especially when it’s growing much faster than liquidity), and market depth seems to not keep pace with - it's reducing overall score. Exchanges that keep market makers liquidity with expanding volume are those that keep all ratios in-tact and have overall score above 75-80% (it means that they have all liquidity ratios above minimum requirements, high web traffic participation, and are often regulated).

Historical Market Depth is showing the history of liquidity from the markets for a given asset. It’s a measure of combined liquidity from all integrated markets on the coinpaprika’s market depth module.
