Mao (MAO)
What is Mao?
Mao (MAO) is a cryptocurrency that operates as a token on the Ethereum blockchain. Its core purpose is to facilitate payments and transactions within its ecosystem, promoting decentralized finance (DeFi) applications. The Mao token aims to empower users by providing them with governance rights, allowing them to participate in decision-making processes related to the project's future developments. As a blockchain project, Mao enhances the accessibility and efficiency of financial services for its users.
When and how did Mao start?
Mao was launched in 2021, created by a team of anonymous developers aiming to build a decentralized ecosystem. The project gained traction through its unique community-driven approach and was initially listed on several decentralized exchanges shortly after its launch. Significant early developments included partnerships with various blockchain projects and a focus on enhancing user engagement within its community. These efforts helped establish Mao as a notable player in the competitive crypto landscape.
What’s coming up for Mao?
Mao is gearing up for an exciting phase as it approaches significant roadmap milestones in the coming months. The next upgrade will introduce enhanced smart contract capabilities, enabling more complex decentralized applications and expanding its use cases within the ecosystem. Community plans include a series of engagement initiatives aimed at fostering collaboration and feedback, ensuring that user input shapes future developments. Additionally, the team is focused on establishing strategic partnerships to broaden its market reach and enhance utility. As Mao continues to evolve, its commitment to community-driven growth remains a core focus, paving the way for a robust and dynamic platform.
What makes Mao stand out?
Mao stands out from other cryptocurrencies due to its unique dual-consensus mechanism, combining Proof of Stake and Delegated Proof of Stake, which enhances both security and scalability. This special feature allows for faster transaction processing and lower energy consumption compared to traditional proof-of-work systems. Additionally, Mao's ecosystem focuses on real-world use cases, particularly in decentralized finance (DeFi) and community-driven projects, fostering a robust and engaged user base.
What can you do with Mao?
Mao is primarily used for payments within various platforms, enabling seamless transactions. It also serves as a utility token for staking, allowing users to earn rewards while participating in the network. Additionally, Mao is integrated into DeFi apps and governance systems, providing holders with voting rights and access to NFT marketplaces.
Is Mao still active or relevant?
Mao is currently active, with trading activity still observed on several exchanges. Development is ongoing, and the project maintains an engaged community presence. However, it is essential to monitor updates regularly, as the status can change over time.
Who is Mao designed for?
Mao is primarily built for a niche community of gamers and enthusiasts within the crypto space. Its intended user base includes players seeking unique in-game experiences and rewards, as well as developers looking to integrate blockchain technology into gaming applications. The coin aims to foster engagement and innovation in the gaming industry, appealing to both casual and dedicated gamers.
How is Mao secured?
Mao secures its network through a unique consensus mechanism known as Proof of Stake (PoS), which enhances blockchain protection by allowing validators to participate in block creation based on the amount of cryptocurrency they hold and are willing to "stake." This system not only promotes decentralization but also ensures network security by incentivizing validators to act honestly, as their stakes are at risk. By utilizing PoS, Mao aims to achieve efficient transaction processing while maintaining the integrity of its blockchain.
Has Mao faced any controversy or risks?
Mao has faced significant risks and controversies, including concerns over extreme volatility that can lead to substantial financial losses for investors. The project has also been scrutinized for potential security incidents and allegations of a rug pull, raising questions about its long-term viability. Additionally, any legal issues surrounding its operations could further complicate its standing in the crypto market.

What is Market depth?
Market depth is a metric, which is showing the real liquidity of the markets. Due to rampant wash-trading and fake activity - volume currently isn't the most reliable indicator in the crypto space.
What is it measuring?
It's measuring 1% or 10% section of the order book from the midpoint price (1%/10% of the buy orders, and 1%/10% of the sell orders).

Why it is important to use only 1% or 10%?
It's important, because measurement of the whole order book is going to give false results due to extreme values, which can make false illusion of liquidity for a given market.
How to use it?
By default Market depth is showing the most liquid markets sorted by Combined Orders (which is a sum of buy and sell orders). This way it provides the most interesting information already. Left (green) side of the market depth bar is showing how many buy orders are open, and right (red) side of the bar is showing how many sell orders are open (both can be recalculated to BTC, ETH or any fiat we have available on the site).

Confidence
Due to rampant malicious practices in the crypto exchanges environment, we have introduced in 2019 and 2020 new ways of evaluating exchanges and one of them is - Confidence. Because it's a new metric - it's essential to know how it works.
Confidence is weighted based on 3 principles:
Based on the liquidity from order books (75%) - including overall liquidity and market depth/volume ratio, volumes included, if exchange is low volume (below 2M USD volume 24h)
Based on web traffic (20%) - using Alexa rank as a main indicator of site popularity
Based on regulation (5%) - researching and evaluating licensing for exchange - by respective institutions
Adding all of these subscores give overall main result - Confidence
Confidence is mainly based on liquidity, because it's the most important aspect of cryptocurrency exchanges. Without liquidity there is no trading, illiquid markets tend to collapse in the long term. Besides liquidity - there is also an additional factor in calculation of score - market depth/volume ratio. If volume is huge (especially when it’s growing much faster than liquidity), and market depth seems to not keep pace with - it's reducing overall score. Exchanges that keep market makers liquidity with expanding volume are those that keep all ratios in-tact and have overall score above 75-80% (it means that they have all liquidity ratios above minimum requirements, high web traffic participation, and are often regulated).
