Who is Hush designed for?
Hush is designed for privacy-focused users and developers, enabling them to engage in secure and anonymous transactions. It provides tools and resources, including wallets and APIs, to support the development and usage of privacy-centric applications. The primary audience consists of individuals who prioritize confidentiality in their financial activities, as well as developers looking to create solutions that enhance user privacy. Secondary participants include validators and liquidity providers, who engage through staking and governance mechanisms. These contributors play a vital role in maintaining the network's integrity and facilitating its operations. By catering to both primary users and secondary participants, Hush fosters a comprehensive ecosystem that emphasizes privacy while encouraging innovation and participation within the blockchain space.
How is Hush secured?
Hush employs a Proof of Work (PoW) consensus mechanism, where miners validate transactions and secure the network by solving complex mathematical problems. This process ensures that transactions are confirmed and added to the blockchain in a decentralized manner, maintaining the integrity of the network. The protocol utilizes cryptographic techniques such as the Equihash algorithm for mining, which is designed to be memory-hard and resistant to ASIC mining, promoting a more egalitarian mining environment. For transaction privacy, Hush incorporates zk-SNARKs (Zero-Knowledge Succinct Non-Interactive Arguments of Knowledge), allowing for confidential transactions while ensuring that the network remains secure and verifiable. Incentives for miners are aligned through block rewards, which are distributed for successfully mining blocks, thus encouraging participation in the network. Hush does not implement slashing mechanisms typical in Proof of Stake systems, but it relies on the economic incentives of PoW to deter malicious behavior. Additional security measures include regular audits and community governance processes, which help to identify vulnerabilities and enhance the overall resilience of the network.
Has Hush faced any controversy or risks?
Hush has faced controversy related to its privacy features and regulatory scrutiny. In 2018, the project was flagged for potential compliance issues with the Financial Action Task Force (FATF) guidelines, which raised concerns about the use of privacy coins in money laundering and illicit activities. The team responded by enhancing transparency and communication with regulators, emphasizing their commitment to compliance. Additionally, Hush has encountered technical risks, including vulnerabilities in its codebase that were identified during audits. The team addressed these issues through patches and updates to improve security and functionality. Ongoing risks for Hush include market volatility and regulatory challenges associated with privacy-focused cryptocurrencies. To mitigate these risks, the project has implemented regular audits and community engagement initiatives to foster transparency and trust.

What is Market depth?
Market depth is a metric, which is showing the real liquidity of the markets. Due to rampant wash-trading and fake activity - volume currently isn't the most reliable indicator in the crypto space.
What is it measuring?
It's measuring 1% or 10% section of the order book from the midpoint price (1%/10% of the buy orders, and 1%/10% of the sell orders).

Why it is important to use only 1% or 10%?
It's important, because measurement of the whole order book is going to give false results due to extreme values, which can make false illusion of liquidity for a given market.
What is showing Historical Market Depth?
Historical Market Depth is showing the history of liquidity from the markets for a given asset. It’s a measure of combined liquidity from all integrated markets on the coinpaprika’s market depth module.
